neg HCG test, too soon to tell?

Is it possible for a HCG preg test to be wrong if given too soon? I had slight spotting yesterday but then still today no blood, just off and on cramps?? What is going on, at least i wish af would start so i can get this process going again, so is this possible? After how many days can a blood test pick hcg up?

it really varies by test and person. You have to have an HCG of 40 or more on most tests..I would keep testing if af does not come! Good luck.
