My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for the last 2 months with no success. I had my period last month but this month I am late. I waited a over a week to take a pregnancy test and it came out negative. I am concerned about this. My question is how long can it take for me to get pregnant? Since I am late and I am not pregnant why don't I have my period yet?

Barring anything being wrong, it takes most of us about 6 months to get pg. A large percentage will make it within a year. Of those that don't get pg the first year, most will get pg the second. Any given cycle, you have a 20-25% chance of getting pg. If you are older than 27, your chances are slightly less. And if you are 35 or older, they are significantly less. HTH!
