yes we are going to ask tons of questions, like why was it cancelled, what can we do to prevent the same outcome next month, can i go to straight injectables and no clomid, can estradiol level be corrected if it gets too high and worried about overstimulation, do i have pcos, and etc do you have any suggestions? as for us just bding and risking it me and hubby have discussed it but feel we may be taking too much of a chance cause what if shes right i would regret it, maybe things happen for a reason i'm just so sick of being patient ya know. but i think they are expecting me to o on my own i thought the trigger shots was just to make ovulaiton happen on demand. but what do i know. talk to you soon

Hi Tanner I am soooo sorry, that is one of my biggest fears, we are using all our money for this one round of injections, I know I would be crazy overall but after spending over 8,000 up to that point I would be crazy!! there was nothing you could do to make them do it, that is so scary to me, well I wish you the best and my heart goes out to you, I can't even imagine!! best wishes, Cheryl

cspears-thanks, but i can only wonder how in the heck is it costing you 8,000 for injections my total bill this month was 240.00, that included the meds(20.00 copay each) and 200 for injeciton training and consultation through u/s, even if we would have had to pay out of pocket for the meds this cycle would have costed about 550.00, are you doing something else besides injections, in my opionion thats so close to the price of ivf why not do the best thing? i had my followup with the specialist today and i'm so glad we didnt risk anything, it could have turned very bad, i in fact i had more than 9 follies there was 15 with 4 small ones close in running, she said i could have ended up in the icu from overstimulation and had to hav an iv, and needle in my stomach draining the fluid out and in alot of pain, besides the fact that i had a very very good chance of having 5 or more babies she said it just wanst worth it, i am so glad we took her advice as crappy as it was watching another month go by, i would rather see things go more natural and uncomplicated, we may even have to skip next month too b/c as of today i still had very big follies and my ovaries were enlarged to a great size. if those follies dont shrink back down i can kiss another month good bye, i did get good news that they dont htink i have pcos because they are thinking for sure the bw would have showed differently, i hope your cycle goes more smoothly, and if your dr advises sitting it out, think long and hard about risking your babies life and yours. she also told us about a 26 yr old who in her start of career begged her to let her go on ttc with the same results as mine and ended up preggers with triplets and miscarried them at 21 weeks and to this day carries of picture of her dead babies in her purse with her, and she vowed never to let anyone make that same mistake again, just something to think about. pmblake if your still out there that ends my update now i await another month-hows things going with you

Hi Tanner thank you for that, this whole thing is just so hard, as we all know!!! I can't beleive all that you are going through!! we live in California none of ours is covered none of the blood work or ultrasounds visits nothing, my gonal f and Ovidrel alone was 1300- and I called around that was actually the cheapest, each ultrasound is about 400- and the labs for all the testing for me was over 700- not including the ones during the cycle, for the IVF with everything they say ranges from 17,000 to 23000 depending on meds, and I have looked at every infertility clinic in our area???? its awful, but you are right I don't want to risk my life, and I am sure dealing with a miscarriage or anything else would be much harder, so thanks for all that and I wish you the best!!

And we are just waiting for my a/f to start then hopefully we will clear to start the injections, I will keep you updated, thanks again Cheryl

cspears-hang in there we can talk throughout the month in case you have any questions i know it helped that i had someone who knew what was going on, this is your first month right? if you dont mind me asking how old are you and how long ttc? i'm 27yrs old and been trying a lil over a year, my prob was i wasnt ovulating and my cycles were getting longer and longer apart til one day they just stopped completely and frustrating enough with all symptoms it didnt end in a pregnancy. this cycle with the injections has been the hardest yet for me to go through we were at our wits end and i was ready after one cycle to give up and take a yr off, if after another two times on this plan it doesnt work i think we will have to do that, ivf is out of the question for us it ranges here in michigan about 10,000-15,000 and i just cant see spending that money if its not guranteed. as for your cycle price i am so sorry, i know i was planning on having the insurance not pay for our meds either and if we didnt go through a mail away pharmacy it would have been the same price total and i was crapping my pants, but when we founf the mailaway pharmacy it was 250.oo for the gonal f and 129 for ovidrel. i am going to give you the name and pharmacy # call them and see if it works for california too, if it does its great b/c shipping is free and your third cycle is free if your on gonal heres the info- its called freedom fertility and the # is 800-660-4283 and they are so nice, you just have your dr office call in the script or fax it and you call and give all your info and they can send it to you as fast as next day. they ask if you are self pay or ins, even if you think your insurance wont cover just try and have them bill it thats what i did and it worked for normal copay-something finally good had happened. what mg are you taking of gonal? mine was 75 but a 450iu pen. well let me know how it works for you-take care. when are you expecting af to start? hopefully it comes soon

Hi Tanner thank you for that number, we did actually a mail in as well and the price we got was the cheapest, but I will look into that for sure, thanks so much. We are both 33, we did 3 cycles of clomid with IUI's with no pregnancy, I ovulate fine always had great follicles just never happened, we have been trying for over 2 1/2 years, we took a few months off of meds and trying with still no luck even took a couple vacations to see if that would help. But the stress was kiling me had wicked anxiety so we put it off a little longer, I was supposed to start the injections in Nov but my period never came so in Dec I had to have to provera shots to induce my a/f and they finally it came was late again, so waited one more month and now waiting to start, I am nervous though I am so afraid of another negative because this is it for us, we have spent soooo much money with no results its very frustrating, thank you for the support, I have 3 gonal f pens one is 900iu the other two are each 300iu and the other shot is 250mg, so fingers crossed a/f is due on the 7th or 8th thanks again and I wish you the best, please keep my updated and I will do the same, thanks again for the number I will look into, Cheryl

cheryl-sorry to hear about your agony through ttc i can say it has more downs than ups. i think its a very good thing that you ovulate on your own and actually produce those follicles, i could never do that on my own without the shots, so i am a lil confused on why they are trying the shots for you if you are already have good follicles? maybe it gives you a better chance. i though iui was pretty aggresive, i just dont understand how it never happens with all the technology involved and the right placement how can these women not get pregnant but yet it happens over and over, that is still a mystery to me. i'm thinking if you can use that pharmacy i gave you you will definately get a cheapier price, b/c if the price you gave me is through a mail away, this place is definately way cheapier. so let me know after you call. my cycle should be starting pretty close to yours so maybe we can do the shot thing together. aslo you said you had a provera shot, how many days do you do that and then have to wait for af to come? mine was a pill for 5 days then have to wait 5-7 days after last pill for af to start it just drags out the process.

I did have the option of pills or shots my dr didn't tell me it was two shots :-) one in each but cheek hurt really bad especially because I tensed up and it shot in my muscle, next time I would never do the shots it hurt for like a week but I did get my period on the 2nd day after the shots so its much quicker than the pills, and my a/f wasn't that bad, so you are going to start again this cycle, that is great. Oh by the way I do ovulate and only produced good follicles because of the clomid, my dh sperm is a little low and the shape aren't all so great, so on our own the chances are sort of slim but I guess they say it could happen, did the shots hurt, did you do them yourself??

cspears-i kinda like the shot option it may hurt more but you get af quicker and can get the show on the rd rather than waiting two weeks, i may have to ask about that. as for the gonal f shots they hurt like a pich or bee sting, but i think if you handled the shot in your butt you'll handle this no problem, the first night was bad b/c i put the needle to my stomach and pushed very slowely b/c i was so nervous i thought if i felt the intial pain i would relax, by the last 2 shots i knew just to stick it in fast i became an old pro, trust me dont stress about it b/c its nothing, as for the ovidrel shot i didnt get to take that but the needle looked a lil longer so that one scares me. i'm sorry to hear about your hubbys sperm, i'm sure that hinders some part of it, but if it helps any my aunt husbands sperm count was very low and was disformed and they have 3 kids so it can happen.

my af if it comes on cd 28 will be here sometime this week, if later than maybe next week, but if not by feb14th i have to call to get provera. i'm not sure if i ovulated or when so that would be a good indicator if i knew that. i dont think i will be able to start the injections this month unless my follicles shrank back down but shes expecting them to still be there b/c on thurs they were still a few there and pretty big-so i dont think til march, but maybe soemthing will work out and i can try this month too-let me know when you get af-are you ding just straight shots or any other meds with it i cant remember?

Hi Tanner yes I am only using the gonal-f, did you use something else with the gonal-f?? also can't they reduce the dose as I go along if I start to produce to many follicles?? I am really trying to not stress about it, but it's so hard, let me know what they say about you starting again, talk to you soon, Cheryl

i use clomid cd 3-7 then gonal f 75mg for 5-6 days, i'm not sure why she uses that combo i only know she wont let me go to straight shots b/c i'm too young and my results of follies would be even more outrageous. but i was looking back and reading our posts and u said you have 3 gonal f pens one 900 iu and 2 300 iu i'm wondering why you have so many are you doing like 10-15 days straight of shots? i only had to use one pen and then ovidrel at ovulation. do you know how much your giving yourslef of each shot, mine was 75mg. next month its 37.5 the lowest dosage possible. i;m sure if your ovaries are producing follies they wont have to give you many days of the shots as long as its following your ovulation cycle days 12-16. do you know when you normally ovulate on your own without sjots? and how many days are your cycles now? did you call that pharmacy yet? waiting and hoping my af is coming soon, and on its own so i can get back in this, believe it our not i miss the fertility place it was becoming my home every other morning as much as i dreaded it i wanna be back in the game now!!! talk to you soon. any signs of af yet for you- i'm breaking out like crazy and had a few pms headaches-so we'll see

That is probably why my stuff was so expensive because of how much more I got?? I am starting with 150 on cycle day 3, as long as my u/s and b/w are okay, with u/s and b/w in between as well but supposed to do the shots for 10 days and back to back IUI's, when I was taking the clomid they had tripled my prescription on the 2nd and 3rd round, so I guess they just assume I need a lot of the gonal-f?? I will ask them next time. I usually get my period every 31-34 days, I can always tell when I am ovualting and it's very random I have the discharge and the pain on either side and I always then test and sure enough I will be ovulation I sometimes ovulate like 2-3 times a month but that is all just lately, its so strange, each time I feel like I am I test and always positive, so I don't know what is going on, getting old I think :-) this was the first month we bd like maniacs this month because of how much I was ovulating its so disappointing, well keep my posted, my breasts are the sorest they have ever been I hope my a/f comes soon!!!

wow girl it sounds like you are going to be on tons of medicine my dose was so low, and i still could feel the effects within minutes of it stimulating my ovaries, so i'm sure you'll have very good results, i'm hoping just not tooo good of results like me and be cancelled from over growth. so i'm a lil confused how do you know you didnt concieve this month? what was the date of your last cycle? well my af came today very unexpected since this is only cd 25, i have never had a period this early in my life or have i had one on my own in over 6 monthes so i was doing the happy dance this morning, but i'll tell you being on those shots they warned me my period would be worse, its so heavy and my cramps are more noticeable, thats probably why i was scramping so much and my boobs hurt so bad, i never have symptoms like that. i go wed for u/s and bw and that will determine if i can try again this month. i'm almost back in the game-pray my follicles disappeared so i can go at it this month. i pray your af comes soon unless you get a bfp
