Here JB, here's a new thread (I thought it was appropriate too. :)

linds99 - March 2

If this isn't too weird to ask, but all you ladies that got a positive last February through IVF, please take a moment and shed some baby dust to us IVFers who are waiting to get a positive in March and April...we need all the positive energy we can get! :) And a repeat of a successful February we had...

Tink - March 2

yeah for the new thread. Ceka and Peggy- good luck!! Linds and Robyn, ISA, Barzee and whoever else is doing a cycle soon-- we are all here to support you guys on IVFs in march/april!!!! you can't get rid of us!!! ;) the good luck will continue, i am sure!!! you guys deserve it so much. i am officially passing on my lucky baby dust to you guys. i know you will use it well!!! i have to keep the sticky dust for now though til i get my second beta and u/s!!! then i'll pass that on too. lol. DH thinks since we had trouble TTC, that we will have trouble in the pregnancy. i don't think he will be satisfied until he sees the actual head come out. lol.....i am more upbeat and positive about though, i don't think he gets that we shouldn't anticipate any problems, especially since we were in the unexplained category, they could not find a problem with either of us medically, so we shouldn't (knock on wood) have any issues. if we do, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. tell then, i'll just keep praying each and every day!!!! i cannot wait for my second beta on monday!!!

JB0405 - March 2

LINDS- I am doing my best to fulfill your request...

JB0405 - March 2

TINK- Looks like we've cross posted!!! LOL!! I pray everyday, sometimes 2-3 times a day.

RE's office just called, I gave them a urine sample the other day because I thought I was having UTI symptoms and I do in fact have the beginning stages of it (a mild bacterial infection), so they're giving me something to take for 10 days! I asked if I should be worried and the nurse said no, we just want to knock it out before it has a chance of doing anything. OF COURSE, I am a little worried!

Tink - March 2

Janae, don't worry, i am sure it is fine, especially if they said so. you are doing great!! when is your first U/s? a few questions I didn't ask the doc, but will on monday- figured you guys might know......it is okay to start having sex again? they told us no intercourse for the 2WW. can i exercise lightly or should i proceed with caution and not? I haven't exercised in well over a month just to be careful- could i do light walking and be okay? any weights? they said no lifting over a milk jug- does that stay in effect the full 9mos? also- at what point do I need to call my ob/gyn and let them know i am prego? i have a coupon for referring my sister to them for a free pregnancy test or free 'what to expect when you are expecting' book. lol- they were aware of my treatment with the RE of course, so i know they will be excited. also- could my sky high progesterone of 110 indicate anything good or bad? isn't is normally like in the 20s?

linds99 - March 2

Tink, I remember my progesterone levels got to only 54 with the shots (one suppository per day), so ya, your progeserone is really good. But there are no bad side effects of having high progesterone in pregancy. I had asked my doctor about that before. As for having relations, I resumed that after my first ultrasound. That was when I felt ready too..but it is all up to you and how you feel down there. And the lifting thing, I would't lift anything other than a sandwich :) j/k....I would really take this one seriously though, be smart about not straining yourself. Exercise is fine, as long as it is not jumping up and down, walking is great! It is sooo good for blood flow, and better than jogging, as it is less impact on the joints.

linds99 - March 2

Janae, I asked this in the other thread, but didn't they give you the two infection drugs when you did the transfer?? Or do they only give that to you when you do retrieval?? I remember taking two of them, one a few days before the transfer and another a few days after?

Bagfuls of baby dust girls, may you all get BFPs in the coming weeks! Tink, I only stopped working out at the gym during the 2ww. I started again straight after the BFP. I no longer jog or do spinning classes. Instead, I walk long distances either outside or on the treadmill (on an incline). I have now started up with the stairmaster again. I will exercise as long as I can. Same for sex, no problem. You might want to keep it well... not too strenuous if you know what I mean. All this is according to my doctor who is the best in Paris. He said to continue with life as it was before and that 'almost' nothing I do or don't do makes any difference to the fetus. Same with lifting weights. Don't overdo it, if you're struggling with the weight, not a good idea but light to medium weights are fine. At the gym, you might want to use lighter weights and throw in more repetitions and at home, you might let DH do all the heavy lifting and climbing on chairs, ladders etc. Try pregnancy yoga as well, its great for keeping sciatic and other aches at bay and for making your sacrum (pelvis) supple, this should help ease up the process of childbirth and is also relaxing to the fetus. I have a fantastic p. yoga workout on DVD. If you are interested let me know. Don't know about the progesterone numbers though since they don't really check this over here. Janae, thanks for staring a new thread.

Thanks TINK, I will try to remain positive!

LINDS- Since I was hyperstimulated after ER, I did not take the drugs that were given. I was not told to take any after FET so I didn't BUT I am trying not to worry... The meds will get delivered to my job today, so I will start the meds tonight! Twice a day for 10 days and I read on line NO SEX while being treated. Not that I have a problem with that as I have NOT been in the mood recently. KB-while I'd like to take all the credit for starting this new thread, it wasn't me, it was LINDS!

linds99 - March 2

Hey Janae, are they puttin you on oral meds or the clindamycin or whatever that cream is called? I know having a bacterial infection is bad while pregnant, but I always worry about the meds to treat these things, like if they are safe, make sure they give you something safe to take while being pregnant ya know?

GoGo Trigger - March 2

I have a more narrow conception of OK exercise based on consultation with my physical trainer--he has said to stay away from ALL weights except very light ones--2 pounds, basically. Also to avoid any abdominal exercises that aren't modified for pregnancy, like sit-ups or crunches. You also DO NOT want to jog or run AT ALL unless you were doing it on a very very regular basis pre-pregnancy, since all bouncing exercises are pretty much disapproved of. Walking is the absolute best exercise, and anything low-impact like stair climbers and elipticals are swell too. NOT weight machines with pre-pregnancy weights since you can also use your abdominal muscles to lift even though you may think you're using just your arms. My RE said to absolutely keep my heart rate below 140 to avoid danger to the fetus. Yoga is excellent for a whole bunch of reasons. As for the obgyn, your RE will release you at some point after a healthy ultrasound and then you'll be seeing them...I woudn't worry about it before then :D For sex, just take care--no wham bam :D

JB0405 - March 2

LINDS-seeing as the it's the RE's office that's taking care of this, I am sure the meds are safe. It will be an oral antibiotic. Thanks for your concern, I hope all will be fine. I've had 2-3 people tell me not to worry it's normal during pregnancy!

linds99 - March 2

That is some good advice gogotrigger. I agree about the weights, I have read that too in my prental book. I also read that when the mother's heart rate is elevated, so is her baby's heart, so that must be the reason they say keep the heart rate at 140. Good tips....Hey Janae, I hope it clears up fast for you. Good luck!

JB0405 - March 2

LINDS- thanks! It will clear up in 2-3 days and I will take it for 10 days. I am feeling better about things now.
