Low morphology - any hope?

My dh just had his second sa done on Friday. His morphology is only at 9%. Everything else is normal. I have pcos and we have been trying for over a year and a half. I just want to know is there any hope with such a low morphology?? I feel like this is never going to happen for us.

Sorry about your DH's low morphology. We're in a similar situation ourselves. I too have PCOS & my DH has 5% morphology so we're doing IUI, which the washing process gets rid of alot of the misshapen sperms (but not all of them unfortunately). We've been trying about 18 mos ourselves & are still waiting for our BFP too but I feel confident that it'll happen. Are you seeing a RE yet? If not, I'd say that's a good first step & talk to the dr about doing IUIs. Good luck & hang in there, JamieLynne. I know it's a shock getting that result but there's a lot of success stories out there with really low morphology rates.

Hi JamieLynne...my husband's morphology is extremely low as well. I don't know the exact numbers, but the RE told us that it was so low that we only had a 5% chance of conception through IUI. Well, I got pregnant from our first IUI!! I'm now almost 33 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. The RE was stunned and couldn't believe that it worked for us, but we are living proof that these odds can be overcome. I hope that this gives you some encouragement. By the way, we had been trying on our own for 3 1/2 years before my husband finally got tested, so I know how you feel. It is very frustrating and heartwrenching. However, it will make it that much more special when you do get pregnant. Hang in there, and good luck to you.

My DH has a 6% low morphology, we are going to try clomid this month, we are hoping to make my hyper fertile, to help things out. After 3 cycles we are going to try IUI.

We were the same - tried IVF five times and got good fertilisation each time, but they never implanted. We ended up getting pregnant naturally. DH took lots of vitamins, Q10, and anti-oxidants and we got pregnant naturally after five years of trying. Good luck.

Mega, what was your husbands count on your IUI?

Mega - March 14

dee--Post washing my DH's count tends to be anywhere from 31 to 28 million or so. JG--congrats! on the pregnancy. That's great. What other vitamins did your DH take for his sperm count/morphology? I have my DH on vitamin E, a men's multi & vitamin B-12. Anything other suggestions?
