Hi girls, can you please help me- my temps seem weird, I've only been charting for 3 cycles, but they don't seem right- they are low and fluctuating- I was wondering if anyone else had this and could enlighten me as to what type of hormonal problem I may have...Thanks in advance

I looked at your chart and found this on fertility friend and not sure if you read it or not but this is what it said: My Temperatures are so rocky and erratic. What can be causing this? What can I do about it?

If your temperatures are erratic, the first thing you should do is review the guidelines about taking your BBT and make sure you are using a special basal body temperature thermometer. If you are following the guidelines (taking your temperature at the same time each morning, before getting up and using a BBT thermometer) and still have erratic temperatures, the first thing to do is review your data to see what could be disturbing the temperature. You may also consider changing your thermometer or replacing the battery in your thermometer to see if this helps. You may also want to talk to a Fertility Friend guide to get her opinion about what could be causing the erratic temperatures. Some women who are unable to get a clear pattern when taking an oral temperature are able to get a clearer pattern when they take their temperature vaginally. If you have several cycles that are erratic and you are taking and recording your BBT properly, and you are unable to see an ovulation pattern, you should talk to your healthcare provider. " Normally progesterone is what raises your temperature after you ovulate. This rise is what gives you the two phases -lower temps in the follicular phase and higher temps in the luteal phase. You should take your charts to your doctor and ask for a work up. Have them check things like your progesterone and estrogen levels, lh levels, prolactin to name a few. It shows a possible ovulation on cd8 but I dont agree with it. You need at least 3 sustained higher temps to say you ovulated. what is your monthly cycle like? Has it always been long like that? That alone is an indicator somethign is amiss and a doctor can give you something to bring on af in a more typcial pattern. I would definately go to your doctor and get it looked at. The sooner they start looking into it the sooner they can fix your cycle and hopefully get you pg.

Thanks for the input- and no, my cycle was not always that long- usually they were about 35-40 days...until I started temping- go figure. Then I had a 21 day, a 74 day, and then this one that I'm on. They were all pretty regular before temping! Thanks anyway.

if you had a 35-40 cycle that is not normal. My RE says a typical cycle of 28 days give or take a day or 2 but other than that there is something wrong. You need to get it looked into and to get on a regular cycle which will get your estrogen and progesterone in the cycle at the right times so that you can get pg. Good luck. It may be something really easy to fix.

thanks so much- I told my doc a long time ago and he seemed unconcerned about my cycle length. He says lots of people are irregular....hmmm.

I charted for about 3 months and didnt like what I saw for temps. I thought they were low (and they are low normal) but it made me go to family doc and right away he said he's this RE and sent a referral. Mind you i was also over 35 so he didnt even question it. I think alot of gals though have to push their doctors to send them to specialist b/c docs always seem to think "its ok it will happen relax" -yeah right tell that to those of us that aren't pregnant yet ......if I were you , and I"m only going by my own experience and what I"ve learned in my quest is take things into your own hands. google absolutely everything about fertility and learn so much you think you are a specialist. the more we know about ourselves the more we can help the doctors to diagnose us (my opinion).

Trust me, I've read as much as possible! By posting my chart on here I was hoping someone else had had the same temp pattern as me and possibly could shed some light on what kind of hormonal imballance I have...ie, possibly low progesterone or something. Thanks for your help again.

Saird, hello! I took a look at your charts and I don't think your temps are too low. Mine are low and that is normal for me. That may also be normal for you. Most women not on "THE PILL" have some changes in their cycle from time to time, I repeat most not all! No two bodies are the same and you should keep charting to see if you can find a pattern. This could take months if not a year or more.

isa "the more we know about ourselves the more we can help the doctors to diagnose us (my opinion). " Well said!

Thanks Tynadu, my temps may not be that low, but did you look at my last chart- my cycle was 74 days long! I'm not even sure if I O'd. DO you think that could be a problem?

Also, has anyone used vitex to regulate hormones-and if so, was it successful?
