Life After IUI 4

Hi Nata, my next u/s is at 5:30 today. This one will be much more informative. Who knows how many follies I will get, since none of them were even over 12mm! That is what my dr told me at first about iui--only 4 follies. I wonder if that is still his opinion considering my fsh level and how long we have been ttc. I will find out today, I suppose! Last night was a tough shot night. After the Menopur hurting Saturday, I didn't want to do shots last night. I sat and cried for 30 minutes before I could even do my first shot (did Menopur last yesterday). After that, my stomach was upset for a couple hours. I didn't get to bed until after 1am. I am so tired today. Have you decided when you are going to test yet? You are almost half way through the 2ww!!

Ann, sorry to hear about the Menopur nightmare. Just think that it will be all worth it in the end (fingers crossed!). I know it's been a long journey for all of us. It's very tough. There are so many women who get pregnant so easily. Meanwhile, we have to do all of this hard work. I have been having a terrible time lately. I can't fit in my own clothes. Yesterday we were going to have dinner with my father-in-law. I tried at least eight outfits and NONE of them looked fine. Maybe I'm not as big as I feel but the issue is: I FEEL BIG! Feeling bloated is not fun at all. I have to cover my stomach, otherwise, everybody is going to think that I am three months pregnant. I decided that I don't want to let the result take me down (I know... easier said). It will be God's choice. If I get a bfp, then, that's mean that I am ready to be a mom. But if I get a bfn, then, I guess I'm not. Sorry I couldn't make you feel any better. Thanks for listening. By the way, good luck today. Let us know how many GREAT follies you have. Oh, one more thing... I would not mind gain a lot of weight & feel bloated IF I was pregnant for sure. What makes me upset is that I feel bloated without knowing if I am pregnant.

Oh, Ann, regarding the testing thing... I will test on Monday (not earlier than that for sure). It will be exactly 12 days after the iui. How was your weekend? Did you do anything special?

Ann1 - May 1

Nata, that is awful that your clothes don't fit. That is such an uncomfortable feeling. Dh and I went to the movies on Friday night to see the Sentinel (waste of money and time). Saturday, I had dinner with a client and her husband (dh went and another couple from my office). We tried a new restaurant that wasn't so great, so I am really glad I wasn't paying! How was your weekend? What did you do? I can't concentrate today thinking about my appt...

I had 7 follies - 23, 22, 21, 19, 18, 16 and 15 on Saturday when I triggered. Nata, how many dpo are you right now? Ann, the shots will be over soon.

Ann, I haven't heard about "Sentinel" yet. Lately the only movie I hear all the time is "United 93". If you don't mind me asking, do you have any alcoholic drinks while taking the shots? On Saturday I had to teach in the morning. Then, I went to the dentist. They wanted to take a x-ray. I forgot to ask my dr if it was okay, so just to be on the safe side, I re-scheduled the dentist appointment. I stayed home all afternoon watching Lifetime movies. LOL. I really enjoyed! On Sunday my dh and I went to do grocery shopping together. It was fun! Usually I go by myself but I decided to get his help because I am avoiding to carry anything heavier than 15 lbs. Last night we had dinner at his father's. The food was great BUT I was not feeling too good... bloated as usual. Oh, Ann, is your dh going with you this afternoon?

Nata - May 1

Elyse, wow, you were really in perfect shape! Your follies were looking great when you had the trigger. How are you feeling? Don't you feel bloated / overstimulated? Lucky you! It's been five days since I had the iui. I still have a long way to go.

Nata, last time I went nuts and quit all caffeine and alcohol from the time I started the shots. This time, I am still having my diluted morning coffee and I had a glass of wine on Saturday. I haven't asked my dr specifically, but another person on the site asked her dr about alcohol during shots and he said it is fine. My dh can't go today. He has to pick dss up from school. Does your dh usually go? Elyse, you had lots of follies!! Good luck!

Ann, my dh usually goes to dr's appointments when it's time to decide what's "the new plan". Oh, of course he goes when he has to perform too. LOL. Usually my u/s are scheduled for early in the morning (before I come to work) so there is always a schedule conflict with dh. I really don't mind... as long as he doesn't forget to ask me how it went (it has happened a couple of times). He says it doesn't mean that he doesn't care but it's just that "he is a guy". Oh, well... sometimes I think I want him to worry a little bit more. The thing is that he still thinks that it will happen one day (for sure!) & there is nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, I think if it doesn't happen now, it will never happen. What does your dh think?

Ann1 - May 1

My dh is a little "too" positive as well. Sometimes I just want him to vent with me!! I had him read that post this weekend where the woman is frustrated w/her dh. I think he gets it a little more now. I don't mind on the appts either. Dh thinks it is a bigger deal than I do if he doesn't go. He definitely forgets to ask too!! I am off to lunch. Talk to you soon.

Yeah, I had lots of follies and I feel a little bloated, but mostly my right side feels like I have a big gas bubble and it hurts when I move too quickly. But I feel great and very positive. My doc is on the progressive side, I guess - he told me a glass of wine can never hurt while you are taking the shots - it really helps to calm you down. He suggests refraining from alcohol a few days after though. i don't get crazy because mostly it's just us being paranoid and that is the worst thing we can do to ourselves.

Elyse, glad you are feeling pretty well. Was your first iui today and second tomorrow? Does this donor have a better count?

Elyse - May 1

The 1st insem was Sunday (ICI) and the 2nd was today (IUI). The counts were so much better - yesterday was 36 mil with 60% motility and today was 23 mil with 97% motility. When is your next u/s and bw?

Ann1 - May 1

Elyse, great counts! What is ici? My next u/s is in 4 hours, 45 minutes and counting!!

Elyse - May 1

You are so funny - every cycle seems to be a series of countdown to 1 significant event or another. ICI is intracervical insemination - it's the lesbian answer to bd, I guess, ya know - backup sperm. i am in so much pain now. Can't sit or walk without bending over. I spoke to a nurse at the clinic and she is pretty sure that it is multiple ovulation pain. Since I had such a big response this month, there are probably several eggs being released, which can cause the pain. She said she has been tracking this cycle and she feels "really good about it". She is the 2nd nurse to comment - I feel like they are all watching me and my numbers- weird! Can't wait to hear about your follies!

Ann1 - May 1

Elyse, you are exactly right! Reaching small goals helps me get through the wait of the overall goal. This may be a dumb question, but does ici not involve washing so the sperm live longer? I am sorry you are in so much pain. I hope you feel better soon and get your bfp.
