Thanks, Shannon. This is something you take on cd2 and also take the Menopur (highly purified FSH) the same cycle. Do you think this is Lurpon?

Ann, I looked up menopur on the internet and it sounds like it is similar to Repronex, which is the fertility shot I took when I got pg with my son. Like I said before I did not take Lupron, but I have a friend that did and if I remember right, she said that for the early part of her cycle she took Lupron and then she took Gonal-F which is another fertiltiy shot you can take similar to Repronex. I am guessing that is probably what your dr has planned for you. It worked for her...she ended up with twins. :) Hopefully, this is your lucky med combo and you will end up pg too.

Ann, here is how my cycle works (as I said, it can start any day because I'm not having my period on my own): I take Follistim until my eggs are mature and I have to do u/s almost every three days because the dr needs to figure out the best day for the hcg shot. After the hcg, I have IUI. I have never had two IUIs but I will ask my dr what she thinks about that. Elyse, you have done, right? Do you know why your dr suggested two IUIs?

Hi Shannon. I saw you mentioned Gonal-F. Is it the samething as Follistim?

Nata - February 14

Shannon, I meant "same thing". LOL!

Ann - February 14

Have you tested? Will you do so? Here is a reminder for you: unexpected good things can happen!

Nata - February 14

Ann, I wrote the message for you with your name. LOL!

Ann - February 14

Nata, I do the name thing all the time. I may test tomorrow or Thursday. I "feel" pre af right now. I just hope it arrives soon assuming it is going to! I am ready to get on with the next cycle now! Does the dr think you will start Oing/AFing on your own eventually? Shannon, thanks again. Maybe it is Lupron that my RE said. So much to learn!

Nata, I have never taken Follistim, but I looked on the internet and it sounds like it is similar to Gonal-F. Is Follistim a shot? Sorry, I couldn't help more...

I think I found the reason for Lupron. It supresses the body's production of FSH, and then the purified FSH is given to stimulate the ovaries. It keeps the body from Oing at the wrong time, I think. Confusing!!

Hi. Ann, I'm so happy to hear that the news you received was not as bad as you expected. At least you still have a chance! And a chance is all it takes. Knowing you, you'll probably test today (hie hie - sorry I couldn't resist LOL!), so good luck. You're in my thoughts! I feel sad today, because I'm on 5dpo and I don't feel different at all. With my other IUI's, by day 5 at least my boobs hurt - or something. So I have a feeling this last IUI didn't work. Looks like ivf in April for me. Ugh.
