I'm a computer programmer (web pages). Boring, I know, but I absolutely love my job. Also, I live about 5 minutes drive away from the building where I work, so it's great! And you?

Elizabeth, that is not boring at all!! I am a CPA (not sure of the equivelent in SA--in the UK it is a chartered accountant I think) and I do international tax. Talk about boring to most people!! I like it, though, even with the long hours and stress. What does everyone else do?

Wow, Ann! I'm not very good with numbers, so I think very highly of anyone working with them! Anyway, I'm off. I'm looking forward to reading all the posts tomorrow morning. Have a great day!

Ann and Elizabeth - so cool to be talking to ppl from other countries. You ladies have been chatting it up this morning (9:30 AM in the US)
Ann, my brother is a lawyer specializing in International Tax. He became a professor several yrs ago b/c of all the nasty stuff that goes on in law - too crazy for him. He LOVES what he does and has written several articles and books on the subject. He also is asked to speak quite often - he was in Italy over Thanksgiving. It all does seem boring on the outside, but the reading is actually quite interesting. Especially the tax stuff here in the states with regard to same sex partnerships, etc - actually more than interesting, it's frustrating and angering. Back to babies - the book What to Expect... is wonderul - the whole series is good - but you should definitely wait and buy it the very day you find out you are pregnant. I'm in the toddler series now and WOW - I didn't know what I was in for...but make sure not to drive yourselves crazy with the info. I am a stay at home mom, I think I said that before - keeps me busy and I enjoy it - when I was working, I wasn't sure if I would. But I can never go back, at least not until the kid(s) - hopefully it will be more than one soon) are much older. I used to be in Technology Consulting. I was the VP of Operations for a firm here in NJ. What pressure!!!!!

hey ladies...feeling so much more better today. Yesterday was such a depressing day. I feel good. How is everyone!!???

lene - January 24

hey elyse, hope you don't mind me asking but did you get your procedure done in Jersey? I did...

Ann - January 24

Elizabeth, you would think it is a lot of number, but I really only do what you would think of as tax law, although I do like numbers/math a lot. I am a dork! Elyse, You are very lucky. I would love to be able to stay home with kids for the first couple years, but that is not in the cards for me!! My dh and I would have to live in our car and without insurance.:) Plus, he is just better with the "home" stuff. Luckily, he has his own business (builds wine rooms in homes/businesses), so he can work at home and take care of kids. We would like to hire someone part time after the first 6 months-a year to be at the house (dh will be at home also). I hope we can find someone that is fluent in French, because I want to raise kids bi-lingual (I speak French and take my stepson to lessons with me).

Ann, that's nice...definitely a good idea to teach kids another lanquage. I wish i could stay home also. my husband owns a pizzeria for only a bit over 1 year so it is just way to early for me to think of staying home. plus i have the insurance since it would cost more if he had it...but hopefully one day we will be okay spending $1,200.00 a month on insurance...if that is how much it costs...not sure.

Lene, I go to the Diamond Institue - they are the most incredible people! I noticed a few of you worry about weekends - do your docs give you a hard time if they have to come in on the weekend? The Diamond Inst. is open 365 days/yr b/c the O waits for no man!!!

lene - January 24

HELLO SO DO I!!

Elyse - January 24

Ann and Elizabeth, I know what you mean about the $ issue when 1 person stops working. our income was basically cut in 1/2 AND we had another mouth to feed and body to clothe - formula and diapers are so expensive. but we manage. I clip LOTS of coupons and learned how to stretch a dollar like you can't believe. I was paying a lot of $ for ins, but dp (dear partner?) company started allowing domestic partners on the insurance as og Jan 1 of this year - what a relief!

Elyse - January 24

OMG - you go to Diamond??? Aren't they wonderful?

Hi everyone. I read the thread everyday, but I don't always post something. I really love reading and keeping up on what is going on with everyone. Elyse, my story is long, but I will try to make this quick... :) When I first started this thread I was in my 2ww with #2. I had a successful cycle. I am now 8 weeks 3 days pregnant. With my son dh & I did a cycle of clomid and IUI and it caused a cyst which I needed removed, after I had that surgery my ob/gyn told me I would have to go to a RE because during the surgery she had to take out my left tube and she could not get dye to go through my right tube. When I started with the RE she wanted to do another dye test when I was not under for surgery so I did that and we discovered that my right tube was just being stubborn with my ob/gyn and that it was open. I then started the injectables (Repronex) and had a successful cycle. My son was born a year ago this month. (He just had his 1st birthday). Dh and I decided to try for #2 at the beginning of this year by going back to the RE, but we had to wait until we could start a new flexible spending account. I talked to my ob/gyn and she said that if we were up for it we could try a couple of cycles with her using clomid and doing an IUI (in the end it is A LOT less expensive with her), dh and I decided we would try 2 cycles with her and then in January start with RE if it had not worked. Well, the second cycle worked and now we don't have to go to the RE. Elizabeth-I am feeling great. In the very beginning I did start to spot 2 times which is very scary, but a week ago yesterday I had my first ultrasound and saw the little baby (there is only 1) and it's little heart (beating 150 beats per minute). I am very lucky and very greatful!!! I have another ultrasound on Feb 22. I am really looking forward to that!!! All of you guys are in my thoughts and prayers. I really hope you get + soon!!! Baby dust to all of you!!! Sorry this was so long... :)

Ann, the bilingual thing is great. I speak Spanish also, so I talk to my daughter in both - very exhausting. My brother speaks 5 languages, so he speaks to OG (my daughter) in French, Russian and Vitenamese so she will learn those too (a little bit). he lives is Pittsburgh, so we only see him 7 or 8 times a yr for a few days.

ah, not sure...they seem to scare me a bit. Reason - i have hi prolactin and needed an MRI...so i got one and results were normal. they never mentioned anything...until, last Thursday i decide to call them and ask them if i need medicine for it...MaryBeth puts me on hold and gets back telling me that Dr. Hade prescribe me some medicine beginning w/a b. i'm like, OKAY...WHY R U GIVING ME THIS NOW? Anyway, i called the next day and Dr. Yemini explained to me that i'm okay...and taking the meds now doesn't interfere with anything. I like Dr. Yemini. He's really sweet! this is weird...i had a feeling but man was i right...can't believe you go to diamond also.

Elyse - January 24
