No, it is not abnormal for your cycle to vary in length by a few days, as far as I know. The average length is 28 days, but the normal length varies woman to woman. Your cycle could just be a few days longer. Irregular would be cycles over 35 days, or skipping cycles all together. To be sure, ask your doctor, but I am sure you are fine. Are you trying to get pregnant?

I can understand how frustrated you must be... I have been ready just since December last year, and I already want it to happen! Have you been charting your cycles at all? Like taking your temperature every morning, checking your vaginal mucus, or doing any other ovulation tests? If not, this could help you a lot, because the window to get pregnant is actually very small. Sperm stays alive about 3 days, but the egg is only ripe for fertilization for about 12-24 hours, in most cases. Timing is everything.

Kim - Your periods are regular. I did fertility treatment and my cycles vary by a few days but they said at the clinic that as long as they are roughly one a month they are regular and this isn't the cause of the problem. In my case it was my husband that was the problem so it maybe nothing to do with you. In 40% of cases there's a problem with the man. A sperm test will determine this. It's worth doing some tests if you've been trying 2 years - that's how long I'd been trying before I started testing and the results showed we had almost zero chance of getting pregnant without fertility treatment. I was glad to find out I was fine but unfortunately for me the only cure for male infertility is IVF (with ICSI). It worked first-time though! Good luck and hope you get your baby soon. I'd recommend a holiday to take your mind off it if you can get away - it helped me through it.
