hi, thanks for your reply, its wherethey put a camera just below your belly button and in the navel to see if the tubes are blocked or endometriosis and things like that so they can find a reason why i aren't gettin pregnant. its the NHS waiting list my gp put me on it first to see the gyne that took 2months now i have to wait 3-4months to have the op done!!!! can't wait

sorry to hear that... loads of baby dust to you too, good luck

Hiya, I'm in the UK. We have been ttc since 1st Jan. We're going to give it a year before trying medical help. I am trying BBT this month - at least I might know if I o then! Good luck to us all!!

Jen - July 6

Hi, sorry - what is BBT? We're trying too with no luck so far!

Joby - July 6

Jen - just charting my basal body temperature ie my temperature on waking. I should have a thermal shift (hopefully!) tomorrow which will indicate I have ovulated. Give me a shout if you need any more info!

Thanks Joby. Sorry for sounding like I know nothing. Should I be taking my temperature at the same time every day?

Jen - July 6

That was me (Jen) who just posted that last one!

Jen - July 6

To Joby, fingers crossed for a change in temp for you tom! x

Joby - July 7

Hi Jen - you don't sound like you don't know anything! I thought I was quite well educated in all this until we decided ttc, I've learn't so much! Yes, you ideally need to temp at the same time each day. I start work at 7am every othr week so up at 6am. At weekend I just set the alarm, temp & go back to sleep! I did get a rise this morning - another 2 rises to go & I know I'v o'd. If it stays up for 18 days I'll be getting excited!!! On a more serious note - none of you ladies are in London today, are you?

Justine - July 7

I'm from London. I don't know much about laparoscopy though only that my fertility clinic said they didn't do it at all as they put everyone trying to conceive for more than 2 years on IVF, even unexplained. I remember those waiting lists though - there were lists to go on lists and I had to go on about 3 lists before I got treated which took about 1 year and that was going private. If we'd waited for the NHS to pay it would have been 4 years. It was pretty scary in London today - I work by Victoria and we were told to stay away from windows in our building as police thought a bomb may go off at Victoria which would shatter our windows. All the women then moved away from the windows whilst the men just went to look out of them and stayed there for 30 mins! Fortunately there was no explosion at Victoria and my firm paid for a taxi home for me. I was very glad to get home!

justine,im sorry that your fertility clinc does not help u much.i am from birmingham in the uk.it must of been scary for everyone its sounds like the men just wanted to see wot was going on and they are a bit stronger then woman i think but its gud to hear u got home safe gud luck.

Justine - July 8

Thanks Kelly. We did get to the top of the waiting list in the end after 1 year - by paying £2,000 to go private with them. My local authority will only fund IVF after 4 years and then only once. We decided it was best not to wait as your chances go down with age and I was 31 (32 now). We had to do IVF with ICSI (same as IVF but eggs are injected with sperm) as my husband was subfertile. It worked first-time thankfully and I'm now 22 weeks pregnant. It took us 3 years in all but I'm glad we did it. Good luck to you and everyone else trying to conceive. Hope you all get pregnant soon.
