Hi Rom, I am so sorry you had a m/c and ectopic, it is heartbreaking when these things happen. This should probably be on another thread, but prior to my surgery, I had had one pg, whereby one of the doctors told me I was not pregnant even though I had told her I had taken a test and it was +ive. I was quite young at the time, so I think she thought I was exagerating my condtion or something. I'd started to spot which is why I went along to see her, I told her and she did an internal and told my I was NOT pg. I stupidly beleived what she said even after taking the home test. I felt stupid for bothering her and left. I continued on to an interview at the local college, where I proceeded to m/c in reception. I was so embarrassed. The lady on reception helped me and called an ambulance, I had an emergency d&c as I was bleeding so much. After getting home I rang the doctor and told her and all I got was 'oh'? I realised later I should have made her take a test at the surgery, but she was the one who is supposed to know everything!! Some years later I had an ectopic, my doc told me I had a infection from the coil, he did a pg test, it was -ive, then gave me antibiotics. He went on holiday for two weeks and told me to see him when he got back (in hine sight he should have sent me for a scan) and if no better he would remove the coil. I saw another doctor within the two weeks period and begged her to take out my coil as I was in such pain and again I believed what the doctors told me . She said she couldn't remove it because she was not my doctor, she then gave me some really strong pain killers and took a pg test and told me to see my doc when I got back for removal of the coil and the results of the pg test. I saw my regular doc when he got back two days later , I told him I was still in pain and had seen a doctor two days earlier and she had taken a pg test and I asked for the results. He responded by saying 'oh I can't find it '. On removal of the coil he said ' things should setlte down now' carry on taking the antibiotics. That was on a Monday, on Wednesday evening, I found a hand written note on my doormat, saying please attend the doctors surgery first thing in the morning, I was still in agony, taking the pain killers Wednesday evening, when Thursday morning came I got out of bed and felt a bursting feeling in my abdomen. My dh had been on nights so I did not want to wake him. I drove myself to the surgery and the doctor could not even look me in the face. He told me the pg test had come back positive and I must get myself to the hospital immediately. I told him about the bursting feeling and he went white as a sheet. I was crying at this point as I felt some relief that there was an answer to all the pain I had been suffering. He asked me if I had anyone to take me to the hospital and I explained I had driven myself to the surgery. He then said I must get myself to the hospital, which is what I did. I rang my dh from there. The ectopic pregnancy had burst around my left ovary, which I have been told no longer works. I've since learned from the surgeon who did my tr that there are still eggs there. Well to end the story there. It is a lesson learned, now I do not beleive everything I am told by the medical profession, I had to practically demand a FSH test to be done, since being on clomid. I have found this forum to be so informative and full of hope, this is better therapy than anything I have experienced whilst trying to conceive, AND I will always have a long list of questions when I see the docs from now on. Thank you so much for giving us some hope through your words, and showing us it is possible to conceive. Even after tragedy. Good luck with the clomid. Tonya, so sorry your AF showed her ugly face, but good luck with your clomid, I ovulated on 100mg in October, should get my results for my November cd21 blood test this week. I hope it works for you and you get your BFP, I've read a lot of threads where the individual has fallen pg on clomid. I am going to start using a fertility monitor in December if I get my AF this month. Might as well try it, any sign is a bonus when you are not really sure 'when' you ovulate. Bady dust to all of you.

hey boo. wow,, i know what you mean about not being able to trust a doc completely. You really have to trust your own instincts. I actually yelled at a doc during my ectopic b/c my family doc had me rushed to the ER and this doc wanted me to lay flat so he could examine me and I was in agony cause my tube had ruptured and I was bleeding internally and I couldn't tolerate laying flat and I protested and he's like listen I need you to lay flat (half bored and irritated looking at the ceiling kicked back in a chair) and i'm like, hey look at me! Look in my eyes! I'm not here for attention!! The pain is too intense, God help me!! I had to go for an ultrasound and just twisted and begged to get up the pain was sooooo soooo terrible then they rushed me in for emergency surgery and I ended up having to have lots of blood. And the doc said it looked like a bomb had been dropped on my tube so he had to take it. I knew something was wrong the night before but my husband and sister in law who worked for an OB convinced me to stay home cause I was going to drive my self to the ER. They felt bad about that later! In the middle of the night I broke into a cold sweat and on the way to the bathroom fainted and ended up crawling in there, by morning I was white as a ghost. It was so tramatic. So all you tr people watch for signs of an ectopic!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now whenever I 'm pregnant I have hcg levels drawn and early ultrasounds too make sure there is a sac in my uterus!!

Boo b do - November 20

Rom, that is terrible, your ectopic sounded so much worse than mine. I'm not sure mine was as life threatening as luckily for me I was told it was growing in the ovary area, not the tube. If it had been in the tube I would more than likely have been in the same situation as you or we'd probably not be here now!! We just can't take the risk of that happening again. I have been told that if I do get a positive pg test that I must go for a scan to check it out, (that is the first positive thing I have heard since trying to conceive this time). Like Rom says, ladies please make sure you get checked out when you get your +ive tests. Baby dust to you all.

rom,
hope you don't mind me asking what does 6 dpo mean?

tonyaandjoe - November 21

boobdo,
if you don't mind me asking how old are you? i am 32 and he said my chances of concieving was really good after my tr.how long did it take you to concieve after your tr. dr. assad done mine in TN.AF did come last night as expected.

rom - November 21

Tonya it mean 6 days past ovulation. Tomarrow I'll be 8 dpo Normal implantation happens between 6-10 days and i just can't help it I'm going to start testing in the morning!! I know it will be a bfn (big fat negative) cause it's early . But it's also a good way to distinguish between a clear neg. and when you get a faint positive.

rom - November 21

Well looks like I can't spell, I meant tomorrow.

rom - November 21

Boob b do, my AF is due the 27th. Kind of neat our cycles are so close. Do you know what day you o'd on the clomid? I o'd on the 13th.

Boo b do - November 21

Hi Ladies, I hope you are well today. Hi Tonya, how have you been? my m/c and ectopic ,were prior to my tubal sterilization, sorry I should have made that clearer. I was 27 when I had it done. I'm 40 now. I was a little worried about my age until I came on this forum and have read that a lot of women conceive into the mid and late 40's. I had my tr in Aug of this year and have been ttc for three months. I'm not sure what is going on inside as my doc went on a long holiday which is why I will not see him until the 5th Dec. I';m just curiour to actually see if I have follicles and viable eggs, and even more, that I can ovulate by myself. Hopefully I will be armed with a long list of questions for him, now that my knowledge is far greater from reading threads on this forum. I will obviously let you know what he says when I visit him. It would have been great to go and see him and produce a BFP test stick, wouldn't it. How's the clomid going? What days are you taking it? Good luck with it. Hi Rom, I'm not sure when I ovualte, I have been trying to work it out from reading threads, apparently cloimd can make your cycles longer, mine went from a regular 24 to the last two going up to 28 and 31. This month has been kind of strange, I've had nausea, sneezing fits, sore nipples, tiredness, bloating, constipation and a little weight gain. This started around CD20. All symptoms of pregnancy, but the thing is I had the bloatedness , nausea and sore nipples last month around the same time?? Is this ovulation? I still feel like I have a lot to learn. :-) I am starting to use the monitor from my next cycle so hopefully I will havee a clearer picture of what even bodily sign means...Do you know when you ovulate and is it the same every month? What do you do to monitor it? Good luck to you, keep in touch, we can compare this next cycle P.s how many days are you cycles?

rom - November 21

okay, this is what I know about menstrual cycles and ovulation. First the time from when you ovulate to your next AF is always the same, like about 14 days. What can vary is the time from the first day of your period to ovulation. Like instead of the average 14 days for most women which would make a 28 day cycle it could be you don't ovulate until the 18 th day which would make it a 32 day cycle. But clomid taken days 3-7 can usually cause you to ovulate close to the 14th day. When it is taken days 5-9 it can make ovulation come later from a couple days to almost a week. So what days did you take your clomid? Also, many women useovulation predictor tests starting at about cycle day 10 to monitor an LH surge, once you get one you should o in the next 24 hours. I use them but I also use other methods to check like cm( cervical mucus) right before and during ovulation your cm should change from creamy and white to thin clear slippery and stretchy like egg whites. When you see this change you need to get busy. After your fertile time is over it will go back to creamy and then kind of dry up and be real sticky pasty. Some women who take clomid (especially older women like us) take mucinex starting the day after they take the last clomid pill up until the ovulate to aid cm because clomid can sometimes dry up cm. You just take one reg. mucinex a day until you ovulate. Also when I ovulate I get real achy in my uterus area (kind of like the feeling of gas) and then I ache a little on one side from the ovary i'm ovulating from. Other women take their temps every morn before they get out of bed and when you see a dip you are getting ready to o and then when your temp shoots up the next day you have released your egg. The thing is you best have been bd'ing before all this or have your husband on hand the morning you see it dip. To cover all your bases it's best to just baby dance every other day starting a couple days after AF is over and for the next couple weeks just to make sure since ovulation can be unpredictable in some women. I also have a saliva microscope so this past month I got my LH surge on sun. from my opk (ovulation predictor test) and that day I had major aches and lots of cm, On monday I figured I o'd cause that was 24 hours later and I still had the fertile cm and aches, so I confirmed ovulation with my little microscope that when your saliva dries on it if it is in a fern like pattern called "ferning" you are positive for ovulation. If it dries and just looks like littles bubbles you are not. Well I was definately ferning on Mon. the 13th so that confirmed ovulation for me. But I mean all the other signs were pretty obvious for me. When you watch close you begin to see it clearly. I've been doing it a while I guess you can tell!

Boo b do - November 21

Hi Rom, Hopefully when I use my montior I may be able to piece together the symptoms I have with what the monitor reads. I have bought a basal temp, but not used it as yet, as the clomid tends to make me hot. (I take it on days 2-6). I would like to see if I ovulate without the clomid, so if I use the monitor on the next cycle (with clomid) the following cycle I should be able to test without, altough I beleive I was told the clomid stays in your system for around 60 days after you take it. So I will have to keep monitoring until I know it is out of my body. I will see if I can get hold of mucinex, where do you get it from? Also the microscope, I'd never heard of that? It sounds like you have all areas covered :-) I'm not sure they sell those in the uk, I will have to have a look. Who makes it? Good luck this month, I hope you get you BFP. Baby Dust.*.*.*.*

rom - November 21

I got the saliva microscope from a walmart have you heard of those? Kind of like a super store with clothing, pharmacy, house and yard goods, electronics, furniture, and a full grocery. Got something like that in the uk? Where abouts do you live exactly if you don't mind me asking. I live in Kentucky USA. Near Louisville, Kentucky, but in the country. We are known for the kentucky derby heard of it?

Boo b do - November 21

Hi Rom, we do have an Asda Walmart Superstore, which sells a lot of differnet pg tests and 'o' test but not saliva. I might ask when I'm there next otherwise I might be able to get one on the internet. I live in the south west of England, UK. The area is county is called Wiltshire. It's autumn here, wet and cold. :-( I have heard of the Kenucky Derby, is it racing? :-) Do you feel anything happening this month? I hope you get your BFP, it will give the rest of use some hope. Take care. Bev

tonyaandjoe - November 22

i have a question, how do i kn ow when i am o'ing? i take my clomid on days 5-9 and i am trying to determined when that would be. i got an opk test but i am not sure when to take it i never had done that before.

tonyaandjoe - November 22

how long after do you wait to see if you are pregnant. they made an appointment for me at my dr. on dec. 1st and to do an u/s. and then a week after that i have to go back and do a progesterone level.do you know why they would be doing that.

Boo b do - November 22

Hi Tonya, how are you? The pros test is normally taken on CD21 for a 28 day cycle (so a week before your AF) this is to see if you have ovulated during the month and to see if they need to increase your dosage so you do ovualate. I think you use you OPK tests between CD10-CD17, as from what Rom has said you should ovulate I little later than other people becasue of the days you are taking the clomid. Rom should be able to confrim this as she has a better knowledge of this than I do. I think the us is taken earlier to look at your folicles. It looks like they are monitoring you better now, so that is great. Have a good day and good luck with the clomid, let us know what they say at your scan and the results of your pros test.
