Try googling that question and you will get along of hits. From what I have read briefly, yes, STD's can cause infertility as well as other things if left untreated. It can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease which will cause infertility as well. You should talk to a dr. to find out the risks to your unborn baby while in the womb and during delivery.

My sister found out she had herpes either right after or right before (I can't remember which) she got pregnant. The doctor put her on some medication to protect the baby. He was born a premie (for other reasons) but he is perfectly healthy. I can't say if herpes will affect your ttc, but women with herpes can get pregnant and have a healthy baby. Good luck!

Having Herpes does not make you infertile. The only threat is may have is if you are in labor and have an outbreak at the time of the delivery. In those rare cases, the doc will deliver cesarsan. There are only a few STDs that are the real issues and your OBGYN will test for them... claymida, genital warts, and there is one more that I can't remember. 1 out of 6 people have herpes and many are having babies! I am sure you have nothing to worry about.

I agree with JenG. I've always heard that with herpes the only threat to the baby is during delivery unless you develop pelvic inflammatory disease. For precautions you might want to schedule a c section even if you don't have a breakout at the time of delivery.
