Mari - Glad you had fun. It sounds real nice and your hubby was sweet to plan that. Good Luck to you and Helen this month. I did not have any ill effects the first time with follistim. Please both be careful and watch for signs. I am kind of gun shy with everything that has happened. I had no clue a chance of an ectopic pregnancy was with injectables. Anna - how are you? Later girls

Okiejbp - October 5

Hi, just got through reading this page of posts. We all have so much in common. This is my first time posting. This is techically my 5th time using Follistim (1st one in Feb 2005, didn't go through with cycle....long story, personal reasons), 1 timed intercourse, and 3 iui's (most recent one was yesterday 10/4). I'm hoping to not be obsessed with this cycle. If it's not successful, we're hoping to start bcp next month, then IVF. Lots of baby dust to everyone.

Anna - October 5

Hi girls, Welcome Okiejbp. Im doing fine...cause Im not doing anything..lol just relaxing and loving it. How is everyone else. Lynn- r u feeling any better? Mari and Helen good luck with this cycle, hope u get BFP and give us some hope. I'll talk y'all later...

Lynn - October 5

Anna - glad to hear you are relaxing. I go tomorrow for post op appointment and see exactly where I am. Helen and Mari - Good Luck and keep us all posted. i knwo this is going to be hard. Okiejbp - I understand about obsessing. I did until day 15 days after IUI. HPT came back neg. and I said yet another one neg. Then 6 days later took another and was preg but it end in my ectopic. I wish you patience during your time of waiting. Anna - I am going to take some of your advice this month and maybe next month. Keep me posted girls...

hi girls, hi okiejbp, good luck on this cycle and lots of baby dust your way!!! mari, i spoke too soon, i am feeling bloated and indigested. i go for my u/s in the morning. do you girls know if its safe to go to the dentist during treatment. i went in to see my dentist today and looks like i have a couple of cavities. my RE said its ok but the dentist said that the stress might not be good. let me know what you girls think. lynn, i'll be thinking of you while you go to your doc. please let us know what happened. anna, i wish we have some positive news this month also. we've all been kinda down lately. we need to hang our hopes on someone soon!!!!

helen - October 6

hi girls...just got back from my RE. it looks like i have 8 follicles, 13mm being the largest so far. i have 4 more injections and go back on monday for another u/s and estradiol levels. my lining was 7 3/4. mari let us know how your appt. goes tomorrow. my dosage is still only 50 iu, but anna, as you said, my body is responding to the low dosage. lynn, how did your appt. go today? hope your recovery is a speedy one. keep us posted.

Lynn - October 7

Helen - Glad to hear your responding well to a low dosage. I wish you all the luck in the world this month. I agree, we all need a little hope from one of us. Anna and Mari - How are you all doing? Where are you at in the process this month? Went for follow-up today...I think the practice knows where I stand. I vented my concerns to the fact of a "nurse" taking care of what a doctor should be doing. There are 4 of my friends who left this practice due to the fact of the doctor taking a back seat and treating from a distance. The doctor treating me right now said I was not the first person to express this concern and he is a different doctor with a different set of morals. He had a plan and we will follow the plan until December and go from there. I will have to take birth control pills for 2 months along with another drug (cannot remember the name). I have to go back to my ob/gyn for an annual visit. I am still going to keep up and see what is going on so please keep us posted. Thanks for all your kind thought/words and I will be back in business in December. The break might do me some good along with my hubby.

okiejpb - October 7

Thanks for all the "welcomes". This 2ww is so tough. I'm constantly trying to be in tune with what's going on in my body. I tell myself not to get my hopes up, but how can you not. Usually my husband has a pretty normal/high sperm count & motility. This time it was average to low. The pressure and stress of having to "produce" makes things a little tough for him. Any suggestions as to how to make collection easier? I know this is a strange question, but thought it might be worth asking as I can't imagine that it's easier for other men.

Mari - October 7

Hi girls, I'm a little down today. went for my u/s and there were only three maybe four small follicles, so we are going to extend the cycle for a couple of days, i have to go back on Sunday for another u/s. I guess the meds didn't take to well this cycle. Helen- i'm so glad to see you have 8 follies, when is your next u/s and when should you expect to have your hcg shot? I was suppose to have my shot on sunday but i think we will have to wait until tuesday, hopefully will have one good folli by then. Lynn - glad to see your doing well and its good to have some time of and not worry about all this. Anna - what's up how are u doing? Okiejpb- welcome, usually when my husband has to produce in the dr's office (we live to far to take the specimen) i go in the room with him and "help" it reduces his stress because he says it's embarassing to go in the "room" alone when there are peolpe around the office. lol. good luck with this cycle.

okiejpb - October 7

Thanks Mari. I'm 99% sure that we'll do IVF if this cycle of Follistim doesn't work. Still good advice since he'll still need to produce (this sounds so clinical). Anything I can do to help, I'll try.

Lynn - October 7

Mari - Don't give up when I did my cycle this past August, I only had one follicle and it was 18 when I took my HCG shot. I thought it was a shot in the dark but I did get pregnant. Hmmm, I wonder if the size has any connection to how fast/slow it moves tot he unterus. Any thoughts on this girls? Okiejbp - I do not go into the room with my hubby, he said it is enough going into the room to produce without all the extra pressure knowing how bad we want this. Our doctor office has some movies and magazines. My hubby said if we continue this, he is going to need to purchase his own.lol Anna - been a while, how are you? what is happening? Helen - Hope all is going well. Talk to you girls later...

helen - October 8

hi girls...how's everyone? mari, i go for another u/s on monday. and probably have my hcg shot on monday evening and do the iui on wed. won't know for sure until monday. my RE called and told me to lower my dosage to 25 iu. he said that my estradiol levels were around 500 on thur. mari, so sorry to hear that your'e not responding too well to the meds. do you know what size your follicles were? lynn, i also had my trigger shot when majority of my follies were 18mm. i was told that the follies grow more after the hcg shot so by the time the iui takes place, it'll have reached more than 20mm. i'm so glad to hear that your doc has a master plan for you and that he'll be in charge of you, dec will roll around sooner than you think! okiejpb, hang in there, we all know how hard the 2ww is. anna, when is your AF due? you'll probably be starting another cycle soon right? hope all is well with you. well, best wishes to all you girls and lots of baby dust our way!!!

Lynn - October 8

Helen - Best of luck to you this month. I hope the master plan this new doctor has works. He is the only doctor in the practice who has shown an active interest in my situation. Has anyone taken glucophage here? It has finally been confirmed I have PCOS (been told in the past but never confirmed until he did surgery and said he saw it first hand). I am going on the pill for 8 weeks + take glucophage. In Dec. we will do follistim + Glucophage and see if pregnancy happens. I was told I would need to take this glucophage for first trimester if preg. I googled this drug and it is used to treat PCOS and help with ovulation. Anna - Where are you in this process? Haven't heard from you in a while. Mari, Okiejbp, and evyone how are things going?

Anna - October 9

Hi girls.... Not doing much, just waiting for my period I would call it 2ww, but its nothing to wait.... So my AF due on or somewhere around 10/22/05. Mary-why are u upset? They will wait untill all those four follicle reach the maturety , so 4 mature follicles is great!!!!! It may take a little longer but you on top of that DR. (he-he-he). Dont worry ... it'll be fine. Helen-how many follicles do u have? Any twins this month? Lynn-I bet u cant wait till December? If u get pregnant (and I hope u do) it will be a nice Christmas of Hanukah gift!! I wish u girls best of luck this month.

Lynn - October 9

Anna - Chin up girl...waiting for AF just means better luck next month. I wish I could say I cannot wait until Dec. but I honestly think this is a break we need. Now hubby and I can enjoy our time together instead of worrying if we hit everything in just the right time. Mari and Helen keep us posted on progress this month. We can wait and pray for the best with you girls. Have a good weekend....
