Going for 1st appt with fertility specialist.....

We have our first appt this coming Saturday the 18th with a fertility specialist that came highly recommended from our doctors and well as a friend. I just dont know what to expect we are pretty excited and nervous. I also have to make my HCG appt this week I just got my period today so a lot going on. Just wanted to know what to expect if anyone could advise that would be great!!!

i had my first appt. last week, at shady grove hospital,va . She just review my past medical records and told me what we can do .IUI...and then my nurse gave me some papers and told me to go for few blood tests before the procedure of IUI. JUst make a ..note ,what u want to ask ur doctor......all the best

Robin....you need to make a list of questions to ask and make sure you ask all of the questions. You can google.....going to fertility specialist for the first time and some good websites come up with questions to ask. You need to ask what the "plan" is going to be. After you try one thing, how long until you move onto something else and things like that. Ask what the % of live births are in their clinic. Usually if you have not done something with you OB, they will begin there with clomid or femara (oral drugs). Just ask all you can and do not leave until all your questions are ask.
