Congratulations and thanks for the encouragement, gurinsa. Unfortunately, my temp dipped again today and I still have AF-like cramping. I feel like it's the end of the line for me. :( I wish my body wouldn't play these games with me. It makes the let-down all the more difficult. I'll keep you posted, linds.

Hi ginger, I'm right there with you with the pessimism, I wish I could be optimistic for us both, but I'm feeling the same way for myself too! This sucks. What was your temp today? I got af pains again today, I know for sure it feels like the ones I had last month and they are occuring about the same time.

well, it's official. This cycle is a bust for me. I started AF. I feel really bummed about it, and now I have to decide if I want to go forward with another IUI in November or if I should save myself the stress over the holidays and just wait until January to try another IUI. It's gonna be a long day....

btw, my temp was right at my coverline 96.6.

My gosh, ginger, I'm so sorry. If you started AF today, that would mean you would probably be ovulating before Thanksgiving, I think you should try again right away. It is right before the holiday, but I can understand why you want to sit out, this is very stressful. Aw, I just feel bad. I think my AF is coming on Saturday, so we'll likely be on the same schedule again next time.

Hi girls, I was 14 days past ovulation/iui. I used a $store test and the line was so faint I had to wake my husband up at 5am to tell me if it was there. Please don't give up hope! We were trying for over 14 months and believe me, the roller coaster up and down emotions every month was wearing on me. But it will happen when you least expect it. Just try to keep your head up and try to be excited that you are at the beginning of a whole new cycle!!!!

Thanks gurinisa, that is very inspirational. This infertility is very painful, especially getting a terrible AF reminder of it all every-month. That part wears on you too. Ginger, how you doing this morning? I've been thinking about you, I hope your tears are drying and your strength is taking over today.

Hey linds, I am feeling better today. I was disappointed to hear your temps have been dropping. I was thinking about it last night and wondering why do IUIs fail? I know it can be a timing thing and blocked tubes would cause the procedure to fail, but I wonder if there are other reasons? Have you ever asked your doctor this? I was thinking of asking mine.

The only two things I really think that are plausible, other than blocked tubes (that can cause a hostile environment in the uterus and prevent the egg from passing), is that the egg never came out and got swept into the tube OR that the insemination occurred too late or too soon (since washed sperm I have read only lives for 7-12 hours I think that is right, but correct me if I am wrong) that is what I read on line. Obviously, sperm that isn't washed lasts way longer than that.

Ask your doctor about doing two IUIs back to back next time too. Have you ever done that? (Not like it has worked for me, but I have read that also incrases your chances).

okay, thanks for the info...boy, I have a lot of questions for my doc this cycle. :)
