I was just wondering if any of you girls have done Follistim u/p? Not that I am going to do this, but I heard a friend of mine say she has a friend that had some left over and was going to use it. She has struggled with fertility for 4 years now. She has tried clomid and nothing happened. What do you girls think, should I say something or let her take it. If any of you have taken it u/p please let me know and for those you have taken it in general what was the outcome? ↓

Hi Jade, I think that this is something you should try to to talk your friend out of doing. I did Follistim for a few months, and everyone's body reacts differently to it. It's a very powerful medication and she may end up hyperstimulating, which could be potentially life-threatening (not to mention that it will make it even more difficult to conceive if she develops a lot of cysts as a result). When I was doing the injectables, I went into the dr. every two days for ultrasounds, to see what was going on. At one point, he had to cut my dose right back (and I was taking one of the lowest doses), because I had several follicles. Also, I always did one month of injectables and took the next one off to give my body a rest. If your friend is battling infertility, she really needs to see a specialist. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the advise...She is struggling to conceive and wanting a child SO much. I too know what she is going through since I have been battling it myself and gone through a m/c already. I think I have pretty much talked her out of doing this and after all the advise I have gotten from several posts, I think I will have enough to change her mind for sure!
