Tracy, when you said that you did 3 cycles of clomid unsucessfully does that mean that you didn't ovulate on it? I am getting worried that I might be resistant to clomid. Argh!!!

soimpatient... did you not have any mature follies last cycle? How much clomid are you taking? - T

soimpatient - July 19

They aren't monitoring my follicles. Last month I was on 50mg and this month I am trying 100mg. I go to the doctor at the end of each month and he looks at my chart. I guess monitoring my follicles would put a strain on our health care system...I don't know why else they wouldn't be doing any monitoring???

I would ask if I were you. I only had one ultrasound the first cycle to see that the follicles were developping, but I am sure the timing of the IUI was off as a result. The past 2 cycles, I had daily ultrasound. That way, we could see that the follicles were 2 cm... I tried OPKs, but the first brand I used, I never got a true positive. The second brand I did, but the RE decided since we were doing daily ultrasound, we would do daily bloodwork as well to check LH and estradiol. It's all so complicated - it's amazing anyone gets pregnant!!!!!!

I'm from courtice (near oshawa), ttc# 1 for exactly one year. Have had loads of tests done on me in the last month including u/s, blood tests, glucose test, MRI, endo biopsy, sonohysterography, swabs for infection. All that has come out so far is a recurring slightly elevated prolactin which the endocronologist told me yesterday means nothing to my fertility or any other body function. The fertility clinic found mycoplamsa bacteria in my DH's semen analysis last week and now we are both on antibiotics for 14 days - apparently can cause complete infertility unless treated. Hope that is all that is wrong with us. I see DR. Cooke at the ROuge Valley Fertility Centre at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough. I get all my results from her on July 26th, can't wait to see what is next for us....

Good Luck Rachel5! Getting results can be a relief because at least you know what is going on and what you can do about it. Welcome!

soimoatient-I didn't ovulate with the clomid. My Dr. didn't monitor me with ultrasounds either, but I had to go and get blood drawn on CD 24 each cycle to monitor my progesterone levels... from that they can tell if you ovulated or not. Yes, it is beautiful here. I live in the country/boonies and I love it!

so impatient you should be monitored when you are on clomid. Our ohip covers it all for free. If you do ivf they dont but the do for the iui and cycle monitoring. I can go even if I am on no meds and want to bd naturally to get pg and they would do all my b/w and u/s for free and do my beta and p4 progesterone test etc. I dont know why you would be monitored. I would check into that. You can get into problems with clomid like too thin of a lining and you'll never get pg. That was one of my problems with clomid and unless they u/s you they would never know about your lining. They tried me on it for 2 months and both times they had to supplemenet me with estrogen to boost my lining because the clomid made it too thin to hold a pregnancy. Also if you are on too much or too little how will they know unless they check? I would seriously look into a different clinic for safety if nothing else. What if you ended up with too many follicles or you got cysts from the clomid (also happened to me).Not trying to scare you but when its free with our system it should be used. My doctor wont even allow people on clomid unless they are able to be monitored.

Thanks Isa...I will definitely look into it. My doctor didn't offer it to me of do a requistion for an ultrasound so there would be no way for me to get one done without his referral. Its frustrating when we have to rely on these doctors to get stuff done. I feel like I am their mercy. I have to go back to see my doctor in 2 weeks so I guess I will wait to see what he says.

Hi ladies. I am feeling a bit better today. Ready to try again. I will call the clinic tomorrow to get details about our plan. If I am correct though, I should have another IUI around August 1st or 2nd. Welcome Alison! How is everyone doing today?

I'm doing okay...I didn't sleep well last night. Clomid definitely gives me hot flashes and insomnia:) I am on cd9 and I just finished my last dose of clomid so I hope that I will O soon. I started to notice some cm today so I'm hoping that is a good sign. I can never figure out my cp...it seems to change every 5 minutes! (Not that I'm checking every 5 minutes, hehe).
