and thanks for the new thread KB! as for me- last appt this am. my ER is on thursday. they will call with the time later today. so i trigger tonight. although i have at least 13 follies over 13mm, they said only 7 of those will be mature. so that is disappointing to me. i think my doc is very strict about really counting only what he thinks will really be mature eggs, so really only letting me know how many he thinks will fertilize etc. the biggest one today measured 26. others at 24, 22, 20, 17.5, 16, 15 and the rest i think were like at 14 and mostly 13.5. so i am guessing he thinks those smaller ones at 13.5 won't mature in time. so who knows. i am hoping i am pleasantly surprised. i read stats that only 70% of the mature ones will fertilize and only 25% make it to blast. that would leave us with only 2 on day 5, if we are lucky. i really hope it is more. so i am kinda disappointed now, but i guess i have to wait until the ER and the day after to see how many they get, how many are mature and how many fertilize. i am so nervous. i wouldn't be if my ins covered and i knew we had more chances and more IVFs to try. but we don't. my lining was still super- 12.9. it was 12.6 yesterday. labs still great too. i start the PIO on saturday. ugh! so that's my latest. and unfortuantely a good friend of mine who just found out she is pregnant (probably 5 weeks).....started bleeding last night. she has an appt in a few hours. i am hoping it isn't bad. she is a lucky one that got pregnant (with #2) after being off the pill just 2 months. hopefully she is fine.

Robyn - you are in my thoughts and prayers. We all are pulling for your little one!!! CMel - good luck to you tomorrow. Where do you live? We are getting snow here in the Boston area early tomorrow am and tomorrow afternoon. I am waiting to hear on my ER - probably Thurs or Fri. I went in for u/s this am and not many more follies but definitely grown a bit - On my right I have a 20, 11.5, 10.5 and on left an 18, 12 and 5 less than 10mm. So well see what my level is at. These u/s are so strange as I think my sealed right tube is affecting the readouts. I had such a great technician this morning. She was having a tough time w/ right ovary b/c of my damn tube. I hap a laparascopy Nov 30th and the Dr found a damaged right tube that he had to seal off and my left was one wasn't that great but left it in tact so who knows what is going in there. I may not feel that bloated since I don't have too many in there. Let's hope for a nice surprise!!!! Well ladies I am off to lunch! Robyn - please stay strong as I am sure this is a tough time but we really all wish you all the best!!!!

cmelissa - February 13

Tink gl this thursday you will do great! I heard that if you have 10 fertilized eggs you usually end up with 2 blasts - i only had 8 out of the 11 fertilize. Anyways the nurse called me today by accident so i found my embie report - to say the least i'm very upset and disappointed right now. I have 1 morula, 1 -10cell, 1-8cell, 1 6 cell and a few others but arent that good. So basically the morula should be a blast by tomorrow and i'm hoping to the 8 and 10 cell catch up today!! I just feel like i have some problem with my embryos like they arent growing how they should be?? Some are slower it seems. I just wish know i did a day 3 transfer so they could have put more in! I just feel so hopeless now like its never going to happen for me. Its just weird b/c we are both healthy and young still. ugh - please give me some hope... DCL - i live in VA, its flurries right now. Gl to you too thrus/friday with the transfer!!

JB0405 - February 13

Hey everybody, keep your hopes up! I know that some of you are feeling a little less than thrilled about follie count and so forth! Don't believe everything you read, remember stats are not always correct no matter who or what the source or sources are!

GoGo Trigger - February 13

Well guys, I'm home with my ET report. Needless to say, I was really anxious on my way in, although I could fit back into my favorite pair of jeans :D So I picked DH up from work and then we drove down to the surgery center. My appt was at 11, but we sat there for a while (it was 11:40) before the doctor came out and gave us the embryo report. At day 3, we had 1 8-cell, 2 7-cells, and a 6-cell; the 5th one was a 4-cell. ALL of them were graded "3"--at first I was hearbroken until he explained to me that that's the highest quality they can be. I thought highest would be a 1, ROFL!! So I got teary right there since I was so relieved. We implanted the two 7-cells and the 8-cell and they're going to hold onto the 6-cell and try to grow it into a blast to freeze. I also found out that the vast majority (almost ALL) of the 22 eggs were mature, believe it or not. What happened was that the sperm didn't penetrate the eggs...so if this time doesn't work, we're going to try ICSI. At any rate, when they actually did the transfer, DH was given a paper jumpsuit and footies and he had to wear a hair net thing and a face mask. Boston IVF does the transplants in the OR, so they had me lie back and they put goo on my belly and hooked up the ultrasound (ooo pushed on my bladder!). I saw as they did a mock transfer with an empty catheter. Then they brought out the full catheter and they put it in again and I could actually see the embryos come out the tip, and as the catheter was withdrawn I could see them at the top of the uterus. So they are in there and clinging to the top! Best thing is that I cramped a bit for the empty catheter but not for the full one, so I'm hoping to avoid uterine contractions for a LONG time. I'm home after the acupuncture treatment, and off for the rest of the week :D Oh--and they gave me a picture of the three embryos so I took it home and put it in a little picture frame on my desk :D I'm such a cheeseball. As DCL said, we're supposed to get snow here tonight on into tomorrow. I WILL NOT be shoveling :D I'm still a bit curious as to why the mature eggs didn't fertlize, but I'm happy with the way things turned out. CMEL--Good luck tomorrow, and I'll cross my fingers that those slower ones grow, grow, grow!!!

GoGo Trigger - February 13

Oh...one more thing...I was told that on Day 3 they're supposed be between 6 and 8 cells...I wonder what they're going to do with the 4 cell?

DCL - February 13

Thanks JB for the encouragement! I really need it since my follie count is not that great. Tink - you are on the same day as me I just new it would be. I finally heard back from Dr office after several calls - this is my first IVF cycle and I am now even more nervous than I thought I would be. We are scheduled for 11:00am and I am going in at noon. Gosh - the day is here. I hope my follies grow a little more. If I have an ET, it will be on Sunday. Good luck w/ everyone. Wouldn't it be nice that we all got BFPs this month :))

DCL - February 13

Yeah GOGO!!! That is such great news - all the best for you!! WOW - IVF is just amazing. I think I would frame that too! Did you feel the cather go in? Were you sedated or was it similar to an IUI? My cervix is a bit fussy so I didn't like the IUI too much. If I have an ET, it will be Sunday. Did they tell you when you beta would be?

DCL - February 13

GOGo - one more question? Did you ask your ins or Dr office how much ICSI would be? I haven't had a chance to call Blue Cross but probably will do so tomorrow. I don't believe ICSI os covered completely. The Dr office had mentioned that would be an extra cost. if you don't mind me asking - who is your insurance carrier and what type of plan do you have? Just curious... Hopefully we won't get much snow but you are on the border of the snow line so you just never know... Enjoy the rest of your night!
