Hi Ladies! Ann, it looks like it's lobster and Filet for you tonight! Tonight is pizza night in this house. I am a little crampy today, maybe I just have to go to the bathroom though. That was gross! Things just fall out of my fingers onto the keyboard and before I know it I am talking about bodily functions. I guess on forums like this I just get used to "letting it all hang out". Most people couldn't bear to hear the things we talk about.

Hi Gabby. I just got some bad news. I just got off the phone with my RE. He got my cd10 blood work. He told me that my numbers are so far off that it is unlikely that I will get pg and that, even if I wanted to do ivf, he would not recommend using my eggs. I have an appt on Monday to discuss everything, but he said he would recommend trying injectibles next. I am so upset and depressed. I really wish I had no obligations this weekend.

Hi Ann, I am so sorry to hear the news you got from your RE. I know it is hard not to, but try not to think about it over the weekend. Just wait until you go in there to discuss the numbers and your options. DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE, there are so many things you can still try. Also every doctor has his/her own opinion. Maybe try going somewhere else and see what they have to say. I am very sorry that you had to get this bad news right on the weekend, I am here for you, if you need to talk, or vent. I tried emailing you, I am not sure if you got it?

Ann, I am so sorry for you. What numbers is he talking about? There's nothing to say to console. DP had the same news when she was tested - couldn't use her eggs. But there were other options for her at the time, perhaps there are for you, too. It's good he wants you to come in and discuss.

I hit enter too soon. I was also going to tell you that I have been on injectables, but if he is not recommending using your eggs, then I don't believe injectables are any better than Clomid for whatever the issue is.

Ann - February 11

Elyse, he said he wouldn't recommend my eggs for ivf but that he would basically recommend seeing what happened with other meds, since clomid isn't working for me. Also, I think injectibles give you more eggs so more chances. I have been reading on the net and it says Inhibin B should be >45 pg/ml, but I don't know what that means. Mine is 50 something but the dr said it should be 230. I have to get more info. Also, my fsh was 12.9 on cd3 and 15.9 on cd10 and in some standards that is borderline (some say up to 25 is borderline). I just don't know what to think right now. There is so much contradicting info out there. I am just really down and frustrated.

Ann, I know - just when we think we know what everything means and that we know all the numbers to look for, there appears some other thing that now we have to learn about. I had read something about Inhibin B recently, but I will go back and look at it again because I don't think I really took it all in. As far as injectables, I do believe the only difference is that the clomid stimulates the pituitary to do its job in producing FSH, but the injectables ARE menotropins, they contain FSH (and some also have LH). But as far as making more follicles, I usually only get 4 or 5, even with double shots (2 shots of 75 each).

I also wanted to ask when you had the IUI - which day of your cycle? Was it after the CD10 bloodwork?

Hi Ann, How are you? Im not sure if you read my last post. I just wanted to say hi and check in with you and see how you are feeling and how your weekend went. We had a blizzard so my weekend was pretty boring. Anyway, hope all is well, and hope to talk soon. :)

Ann - February 13

Hi Gabby, you are right. I didn't see your last post. I wasn't thinking clearly on Friday, I guess. I just rechecked, and I didn't get your email either, unfortunately. It has been hard not to think about over the weekend (impossiblle). I have been looking at info on the net, too, and it looks like I have a less than 3% chance of getting pg and a less than 1% chance of giving birth. I think this quest is likely over for me. Those odds are horrible. I saw your weather on the news!! Brrrr! How is it going with ttc? Did you O and get to BD at all? I hope all is well with you.

gabby - February 13

Hi Ann, I wonder why you didnt get the email..very strange, I will try again tomorrow. Anyway, yes it is very cold here with about 16 inches of snow. I hate when it snows. When are you going to see the RE about those results? Maybe get a second opinion?

Ann - February 13

Hi Gabby. I will look for your email. I am seeing the RE at 3:30 today. From what I have read, it doesn't sound like anything can be done, so I doubt I will even get a second opinion. I think, assuming we proceed with treatments, that no matter what another RE said the course of treatment would be the same (injectibles). I also made an appt with an acupuncturist for next Saturday. Who knows if that will do any good, but I figure it doesn't hurt to try. I hope it lowers my stress level a little, too. The acupuncture place is open on Saturday, too, and that is really great w/my work schecule. How are you today?

gabby - February 13

Hi Ann, how are you today? I am good, having a slow day at work. So today at 3:30. Please let me know what he tells you. Accupuncture is great, I have heard many good things about it. How was your weekend?

Ann - February 13

Hi Gabby. I am having a so so day. Work is going slow, but there is plenty of it. I am glad I am leaving early. I am not coming back to work today. I am too stressed, and I will probably end up crying at the dr. Did you have a good weekend?

gabby - February 13

Hi Ann, I am so sorry you are stressed and going through this. It really is not fair. I wish there was something I could do to make you feel better. See what the doctor has to say, and cry all you want. It may make you feel better. Is dh going with you to the appointment?

Ann - February 13

Hi Gabby, I sent you an email. Dh is going (headed out now). Will update you later or tomorrow. Hope you have a good day.
