I was on Depo for a year. Stopped taking it because of the weight gain. It took a year and a half to get my period back . We still haven't had any luck getting pregnant. That was a while ago.

I was on the Depo shot for six years. I asked my doctor almost everytime that I went in if its okay to be on the shot so long. Everytime I was told it was fine until the last time I went to get my shot. They told me that I need to get off of it right away because after being on it so long you start to lose bone density. I was never told of any bad side effects. When i was on the depo I never got my period and gained probably twenty pounds over the course of the six years on it...Now after being on the pill I for three months I get my period regualarly. I am scared of the side effects that I may get now...such as not being able to get pregnant or bone density losss.....ANY THOUGHTS

yes! depo is the devil. it has caused me so many problems, I do not know where to begin. see your doctor and dont take no for an answer. good luck.

i took depo for nearly two years and it took 3 years after to get pregnant. after this child i got pregnant when they were only 8 mos. old whoops! but i had to assume it wasnt me, but probably the shot. my periods stopped completely and later i read that depo is best for those who already have children because there is a risk of infertility or problems concieving and if you still want children you should opt for another bc.

i was totally against all forms of birth control until my doctor said it had to be done to regulate my periods. i hate pills so i got on the patch. i hate them both. i would never get on the depo shot. Not to scare anyone, but i read a book that stated that these kinds of medications can stop you from having children. i believe this. i have not been on my period for over a year becaue of the pill and patch. i want to get pregnant, but i don't think i can. Dose anyone want to respond to that shit.

I was on the depo for 2 yrs then stopped because of the weight gain. I will have been off of it for 9 months and I have not gotten pregnant and my periods are very irregular. I am scared to deaths that I am infertile because it seems everyone else is pregnant :( I'm going to see an infertility specialist mon. See what happens it I guess. G/L to you girls

I have had my first Depo Shot not 2 long ago but before i had sexual intercourse, but i still have had my periods and all but i have now been on my period for 2 weeks now off and on. I have had plenty of pregnancy symptoms but except the fact that i have had a peroid. Is there any possible way i can still be pregnant?

i also am on the depo shot. however i cant answer your question. i to have had a period for a year. i thought it had stopped but to my surprize i had sex and bleed some time during it. how embarissed i was to see a huge spot of blood on my sheets. i think i scared the guy.

i was on depo for over four years and now i want to have a baby. I have been off the shot for 5 months. My period returned last month. Is this a good sign.

I've been on depo 5 yrs.Dr. said that was okay. they got us ya'll I have been really trying with no luck and I already have 2 kids.My periods are very regular s whats the problem. I read an article that said, depo stops the release of the egg. Which might not return after stopping the shot.

someone asked if you can get pregnant while on depo.yes you can .my cousin who isn't all there mentally,her mom got her on depo and faithfully took her for shots.one night my cousin said her back hurt and my aunt took her to the hospital and became a grandma!!!they had no clue.so yes it can happen on the shot.another fact someone might find interesting is that depo is used for men who are sexual preditors .it's called chemical castrastion.i think that's spelled wrong,lol.but i was shocked to find out i took this for almost 3 years and they give it to men who's sex drive they try to kill?no wonder it's good birth control.sorry such a long post.good luck all ttc.
