basically the sperm can live 3-5 days in your body but the egg is only available for one day. so if you want to get pregnant, have sex 5 days before ovulation.

just have sex on your most fertile days. usually 3-5 days prior to ovulation is the best time to have sex since you don't know exactly what time the egg is released.
