confused on ovulatiion test

I'm confused! I've been diagnosed with pcos I started taking Metformin for 3 weeks now and took clomid on 5th day of cycle,which was 7/2.I started taking ovulation test on day 12 and it showed I ovulated on 7/13 & 7/14,I has sex on 7/12 & 7/13 & 7/14 did I do this the correctly.How many days b-4 I ovulate and after do I keep trying?
