Are you sure unprescribed clomid is safe? I have taken it and I am not sure the intent is to take it without being monitored. My concern is for your health. Different doctors tell you to tak it on different days depending on your particular situation. Some say days 3 - 7, some say 5 - 9. Honestly, I and not sure about your situation. I hope you really thing this through.

Why cant you go see an RE and go through the proper testing to see if its the right medication for you. You have to be montiored correctly. Wtih Clomid after the days your RE tells you to take them on a certain day you go get an Ultrasound and get your progesterone checked to see even if you ovulated. I am sorry I dont agree with what you decided to do with out the advice. of a doctor. I think we would all like a quick fix but sometimes thats not the way to go. I have had irregular periods forever and with the proper meds I am able to get my period and was also diagnosed with PCOS which also has to be factored in when ttc. Good luck

Clomid can cause cysts and actually do harm if taken improperly. Be smart and go to your OBGYN and see if you even need it. There are many reasons why a woman will not ovulate. If your tubes are blocked Clomid will do you no good. I urge you to be very careful. If you have to take it try cd 5-9. Make sure you are using an OPK.

I was on clomid days 2-6, have regular cycles but the clomid thinned my lining (50mg) both months that I could not have held a pregnancy even if I was pregnant. doc had to add estrogen pills for me to thicken my lining. here is more info on clomid: Side Effects

Because Clomiphene binds to estrogen receptors, including the estrogen receptors in the cervix, it can interfere with the ability of the cervical mucus glands to be stimulated by estrogen to produce fertile mucus. Only "hostile" or dry cervical mucus may develop in the days preceding ovulation. If this occurs, adding a small amount of estrogen beginning on cycle day 10 and continuing until the LH surge may enhance cervical mucus production.

Some women taking clomiphene experience producing multiple ovulation, causing side effects such as ovarian cysts, hot flashes and premenstrual-type symptoms, such as migraines and breast discomfort (particularly if they have fibrocystic disease of the breasts). Visual symptoms such as spots, flashes or blurry vision are less common and indicate that treatment should stop.

Hi wannababy...I am sure you really want a baby....but how do you know that clomid will do the trick. As I understand from my doc, clomid works for a certain kind of patients. To see if you are among them, you harmonal levels are checked. And later, ultrasounds make sure that your ovaries have not been overstimulated by clomid. The ladies have already given a large number of sideeffects in the above thread. My only point is do you know for sure, that your tubes are not blocked, your thyroid is fine, your husban's sperm profile is fine?? Surely you need to consider all these other factors for not having a baby? Good luck
