adrienneolivas: PCOS does tend to make it a little more difficult to lose weight. When I was first diagnosed I weighed about 200lbs and now I'm at 148lbs I feel better and know it will only help with the process...hang in there it will happen I too want to be a mommy more than anything my sister inlaw, and both sisters all just had kids within 5mths of each other but I can't let my depression take over bc along with that stress follows and stress plays alot with female anatomy. BABY DUST TO ALL!!!!

I have noticed and the doctors have told me pcos can cause obesity I've been watching what I eat and hoping to knock off some pounds...its kinda hard not to stress when it seems I've been trying forever but I guess when the good lord is ready it will happen I just need to have faith gonna make my dr. Appmnt today so keep me in your prayers baby dust to u also take care!!! :)

Patientlywaiting, good loukc with your cycle this month. It's so funny to think that when we were teenagers we did everything not to get pregnant and now it's the opposite!!!
I was just reading some to the other posts and was wondering about insurance costs. I'm in Ontario, Canada, so a lot of the initial diagnostic tests are covered as well as the IUI. The only thing that I have to pay for is $40 CAD for monthly monitoring and the medications, which I have some coverage through work. I had to buy clomid from the fertility clinic and it was $80 CAD. I shoud look into getting it at regular pharmacies to see if it's cheaper.
IVF is on average $15000 up here. What are the costs in the US?

Again, I can't say how amazing it is to have this type of forum to be able to get all of this support.

baby dust!!!

Chorona: i. Have no insurance and I'm sure everything is expensive here in the us I'm from texas I know its 150 for a doctors visit which isn't that bad but all the tests and stuff I'm not looking foward to a price lol take care!!

+Patientlywaiting+ - April 14

chorona: The dr I see its only $70 a visit and for IUI its $350 the clomid is only $24 and for IVF its around 5,000 or 10,000 its in between there I'm in SC so I know its different everywhere. About the when we were teenagers I was just telling my husband that when we first got together we made sure that we took every precaution to not get pregnant and now we are trying everything possible to get pregnant...weird how things work...Good luck and lots of baby dust!!!
adrienneolivas: losing the weight is hard it doesn't just fall off over night trust me!!! but keep up with eating healthy and doing excercise and you should start to see results I'm keeping you in my prayers and keeping everything crossed for all you ladies!!! BABYDUST TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering if I could get pregnant after taking metformin and provera..just curious thaanx

+Patientlywaiting+ - April 15

It is possible most women with PCOS are told to try metformin due to the fact it helps the eggs become more mature along with getting ur insulin straight. I couldn't take it tho it made me to sick but crossing fingers that it helps you!

Its just money is hard to come by here in west texas and like I. Said before I have no insurance and I already have had a sono. Done to prove I have pcos but I'm unsure of what the doctor is going to want to do and I have no idea how much it'll. Cost I really want clomid tho..I'm so depressed about the whole situation

bubblebaby: Welcome! Sorry this is where we have to meet....but I am also starting my 5th cycle of 150mg tomorrow CD 5-9 I as well had problems with my old dr he told me that if I lost weight I would have no problem having a baby no blood test or anything then I started doing my own research and found that there was a local dr who studied PCOS so I made an appointment and have been there ever since she is great she started me out with 50mg then 100mg now 150mg I can only hope for the best not only for me but for all the women in here!!! My sister has a little girl born 6-2009 and everytime I am around her it makes me want a baby that much more and it don't help that my sister inlaw just had her baby and my other sister has beautiful twin boys...so I'm surrounded I am happy for all of them and they all are great mothers but it makes it so much harder on me to face what I'm going through. I wish you the best of luck and BABY DUST TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
