charting BBT, oh my!

Hi, I'm new here and have a question regarding ovulation and temperatures. I've read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and am in the 1st cycle of taking temps and all that fun stuff. I'm confused because I take my temp every day and am on day 16 with no temp rise. Also I have vertually no CM that would indicate O is about to occur. I'm using a BBT thermometer and take my temp within the hour every morning. It seems weird that my temp has not spiked yet. I did have about 2 1/2 days of awful cramping days 14, 15, & 16 but no CM that would indicate O. Does anyone have any advice for me? Maybe I'm expecting too much too soon. My husband and I have been trying with no avail for about 5 months.

I just started charting with TCOYF last cycle. I'm really glad I did, and I LOVED the book. Did you get the free CD to chart on the computer and upload it to the internet? I really like that feature---the program tells YOU when you ovulated. If you want to look at mine, it's: http://www.tcoyf.com/chart.asp?id=newmommy37 On the top left, you can choose my cycle 1 and see my whole last cycle. I'd be happy to look at yours if you have it online. The cool thing about charting is that you learn so much about your cycle; what you may have thought to be true may not exactly be correct, and the true answers may come out in your charting. Hang in there, and definitely keep BDing---your "o" may be just around the corner. How long are your cycles usually? Are you using opk's too? I found that that's what's working best for me; both to chart and still use the opk's for more of a visual. I wasn't planning on checking my cervix, but I ended up doing that too, and it really is helping. I didn't think I'd be able to tell the difference, but I can easily tell when it's open. Not sure what to tell you on the cm. Mine is kind of doing the same thing---it's usually much more egg white/runny than it has this cycle. Just stick with it---I know how once you start you try to interpret every little thing! :-) But once you've charted a whole cycle, it's nice to have that to look back on. I had a m/c almost a year ago, and have been surprised that getting pregnant again has been taking so long. Good Luck, and I'll be happy to try to help more if you need it!

Sunny go to fertility.com and take their online charting course I learned soooo much and couldn't believe it. I don't O until cd20-21 if I don't use clomid. your cycle must be long 30+ Days? mine were 30-32 and a very short luteal phase so I am now taking clomid. hope you get as much out of the course as I did! oh by the way the course is free! good luck and babydust!
