cervical cramping/tightness with ovulation?

Has anyone ever gotten any cervical cramping/tightness while ovulating or with af? I normally have this the day before and a day or two after af starts. I'm not due to start until the 7th of august, but was feeling the cramping/tightening several times on the 30th of July. If the OPKs are correct, then I was ovulating that day. Just wondering if there might be any connection between the two???
