Bacterial Vaginosis and Infertility

I have this infection that I treat and keeps on coming back. I am now using boric acid vaginal suppositories that are supposed to be really good and are not covered by health insurance. Can someone tell me if this infectin can cause infertility. I have asked my ob/gyn and it can only cause infertility if left untreated. Has anyone had this problem and been able to get pregnant without a problem? Please help!!!!
