I'll be going on my 3rd round of clomid and this cycle my ob wants me to have an hcg injection. Does anyone have experience with injections? What brand were you prescribed and did you have any side effects? Any luck with getting your bfp? My dh and I have been trying to conceive now for 1year and 4months...and it's just getting harder and harder as each cycle goes by. Thank you in advance for your time and information. Baby dust to all!!!

Hi Someday. This past month has been my first on clomid. AF is due in a couple days, but I tested early and got a BFN. Anyway, I did do the HCG shot. No luck this first round. It is just supposed to trigger O so you can time intercourse or IUI better. Are they going to do IUI with you or are you going to continue with TI? Oh, the brand I got was Novarel I think. I did have some hot flashes and the injection site was a little sore for a day or two, but no other side effects really. You just have to make sure you don't test for 14 days because it will give you a false +. We've been trying for over 3 years and have unexplained infertility, so I understand your frustration. I hope all goes well for you.

Thank you for replying NicoleM. I'm not doing iui, just ti, but if the hcg shots with clomid do not work for the these next two cycles then I will move on to iui w/clomid and hcg. Pray to God one of those work. My dh and I have been ttc for one year and four months now and we also have unexplained fertility. I couldn't imagine having this problem for three years and over, I am very sorry. The doctor prescribed my Profasi but I'm having the hardest time finding it. So I'm going to see if they prescribe me the novarel instead as that is what is available at the pharmacies here. Did they tell you when to bd after getting the shot? Well here's hoping for our bfp!! Thanks again for posting!

They had us bd the 3 days after the injection. We did the night of too just to be safe, but I wasn't feeling all that great - just tired and some major hot flashes - not fun while bding! I hope this works for you. Yep, I can't believe it's been 3 years either, but it actually is not quite as devastating as it was when I was in that 1-2 year time. I've just learned to do whatever we can and leave the rest to God. It's hard, but otherwise I'd go crazy. LOL! I'm sure it won't take you as long.
