I'm so glad I posted on this forum. Thanks for all the responses. My surgery is Tuesday and I'm taking Wednesday off work as well. How long was it before you felt back to normal after the surgery?

Oh yeah, one more question. How much bleeding was there after the surgery?

Spotting is a common symptom - according to my doctor. My RE decided to check for a polyp after I had a "stunted response" to fertility drugs on one of my cycles. My hormones were rising, then bam - they dropped before I o'd - so he suspected a cyst or polyp and it turned out to be a polyp. I'm going to ask lots of questions though at my OB appointment on Tuesday when we discuss the surgery. That spinal local sounds scary! I hope that's not what my doc plans on doing! Smiles and Babydust.. T

sunshine, with the hysteroscopy, I could have gone back to work the next day, if necessary (I had my surgery on a Thurs and took Fri off). They prescribed pain meds for me, but I didn't need them (needed them for a couple days after the lap). However, after both of them, the anesthetic made me sick. That was the worst part! The spotting was minimal--like the last day or two of af. It varies, though, depending on how big the polyp is and if they scrape into your lining much.

Hey everyone, just thought I'd give you an update. I had my surgery yesterday to remove the polyp. It wasn't that bad actually. After I woke up, I felt a bit of crampiness but it wasn't that bad. I had a bit of bleeding but not much. And slept off and on afterwards. I took today off work to recoup but I probably could have gone back to work if I had to. But I'm glad it's done so hubby and I can start ttc again. Thaward, do you know when your surgery is?

Hey SUN, I'm glad to hear your surgery went well. I'm hope it does the trick for you! My surgery got bumped to March 19th, but my appointment went well. Because of my PCOS, my OB suggested doing a laparoscopy, ovarian drilling, and a check for endometriosis (that she will cauterize it if she finds any), all along with the hysteroscopy and polypectomy! Lots of stuff! I agreed and figure that "house-cleaning" down there should increase my chances. So, until then, I am trying to get healthier.... I feel positive about it though - just wish it could happen sooner. Smiles to you!.... T
