Goodmorning Mega!!! We missed hearing from you. You have spotting before AF too? Are you sure it isn't implantation since it is early? Since I went off BC, I have spotted before AF. Everytime I see it I get upset, because I know it means another month of failure. I'm 5 days behind you- 4dpo. Nikki- SOOOO Frustrated!!! Sometimes people need help. It doesn't mean that you're not meant to have children. Oh well! Take care all!!!

Hi Colleen. Thanks! I was out of town over the weekend & sick yesterday. Watched way too many Baby Stories yesterday. :) It's Baby Week this week on Discovery Health, tonite I'm watching a documentary on a couple that ended up with 2 sets of Quads. Wow! Colleen, I hope you can get your DH to submit to testing, I've heard up to 40% of men have fertility issues. I think men get a little freaked out about the whole process, it's normal. Maybe reading our posts will help sway him! My DH & I both have issues & I truly believe we're meant to have kids even if IVF is the only way for us to acheive that dream. I wish it was implantation bleeding but it's turned into full flow AF, I'm just concerned that it's so early. Spotting is pretty common actually, though you might want to ask your dr to check your progesterone levels about 7 DPO, it's also called the Day 21 test, sometimes low progesterone can cause spotting, it can also cause an early AF. Well, good luck, at 4 DPO you're still very much in the game this cycle. I'm so eager to hear more BFPs, hopefully yours will come soon.

Hi Mega! Yes, the doctor says that hormones can alter many things and can be the cause of reflux.
Colleen, keep in mind that men NEVER want help, he will come around though, do you mind me asking how old you guys are?

Mega - June 13

Nikki--That's interesting about the hormonal link. I wish I could remember when my reflux started, I'm sure there may very well be a connection. No, I don't mind. I'm 31. May I ask how old you are?

Yeah Ohio girls!! I have been on another thread here with girls from Fla, Tx, and In. I am from Toledo. 27yrs old. TTC for 18mo. On cd 20. DH had poor motility with SA and had a varicocele repair in Oct 05. Now he is ok speedy little sperm. Mega have they tested your dh for a varicocele? It can really screw up their sperm esp morphology and motility? If not is he ok now or still probs with him? I then found out, of course after I thought my dh is fixed we are going to be pg in no time, that I have pcos. I have been on glucophage (metformin) 1800mg since feb. and clomid for 1mo. then dr switched me to femera from march till now. She said femera has sim. action, dec estrogen to inc progesterone, but so far no success, Unless of course I am pg now and dont know it. lol. I couldn't be that lucky!! I also did profazi, I think you guys call it HCG, last month. I had the u/s for follicles last mo. as well. Didn't do it this mo. I had and HSG instead, they shoot dye through your uterus and tubes to make sure there is no blockage. I am all clear. It also increases your odds of getting pg for the next 3mo, so I hear. My dr and I have also discussed IUI but she wanted to make sure my tubes were clear before trying. Well you all are updated on my long journey. Glad to be part of the OH crew!! Oh I am new to the thread thing, what is 2 WW? Collen, can't believe your dh! Really can't believe your dr is treating you with all the fertility crap and they haven't even tested your dh. That's the first thing did with me, I went to get my raft of blood tests and he went to get his SA all in the same day! What if he's the prob and not you? Does he know he can do it in the privacy of his own home and then have you take it to the lab so his face never has to be seen holding a SA? lol. Whatever, MEN! Good luck and sticky baby dust to you all!!

ColleenD - June 13

Nikki- I'm 35 and my DH is 32. Mega- Glad you're back. I hope you feel better today. I used to watch Baby Stories. I can't bring myself to do it anymore. Have a great day!!

BabyRN - June 13

Oh yeah, I feel you on the baby story issue. I am a labor and delivery nurse. Talk about in your face all the time! And of course we get alot of pt who have kids in CSB, teen preg, and I always love the answer "I don't know when my last period was, this was kind of an accident" AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

nikki2204 - June 13

I am 29, so we are all just about the same age. Colleen, I wish you luck with your DH, I hope he comes around soon. I'd hate to see you taking this clomid and wondering all this time and maybe there is a small issue with him, you know? I have to agree with the baby story thing, I just can't do it anymore. Heck, I can't watch anything anymore with out getting emotional. Hormones are no joke!! :) It's so nice to talk to you all, we might have to plan a meet and greet sometime here in ohio :)

Mega - June 13

Nikki--what a great idea about the OH ladies meet & greet! I'd love to meet you all. I'm sure we can find a somewhat 1/2 way in btwn. meeting place. BabyRN, welcome! Toledo--I went to college at BGSU, so I went to Toledo a lot on weekends, the "big city." Wow, being a labor & delivery nurse, yeah that must really wear you down, all the "accidental" pregnancies. But still, what a rewarding job I'm sure. I can't always watch Baby Stories, just certain times in my cycle, other times Johnson & Johnson baby commericals make me cry. I hear ya on the hormones. Now that AF came today I'm not sure I could do a Baby Story marathon, yesterday though I was still in my 2 ww. I do like the ones though that feature couples with fertility issues that conceived via IVF-ICSI or IUI. No, I haven't had DH's varicole vein checked. I guess an urologist would do a full work up? I'll look into that. We're on a break now, saving up $$$ for IVF that we'll probably start in Aug. I'm glad your DH had such good luck with the surgery. Was it real invasive? Was it a quick recovery? I don't know if we'll do the surgery though, b/c we're set on IVF-ICIS (& I'm too impatient to wait longer than Aug) but I think it might be useful to know the causation of his problem. DH's also a Gulf War Vet & I've got to say I've heard of a lot of Gulf vets with fertility issues so that could play a big part too I think. That's rough though that as soon as your DH got his issue taken care of you got dx with PCOS. But at least now they have some idea how to get you straightened out too. I also have PCOS. 2 ww = 2 week wait, the long period of time from when you O til AF comes. You'll pick up all the abbrevations pretty quickly I'm sure. Colleen--Thank you! I'm feeling a bit better today & I'm sure that by the time 5 o'clock rolls around I'll be feeling even better. LOL!

BabyRN - June 13

I would definately like to get together too. That would be such a great time. We are going to have to get together where there is good shopping!! Mega-Yes urology would check your dh out. Not a terribly invasive surgery, out pt, general or spinal his choice, and feels better in about a week. Takes about 3 mo for the spermies to get back moving again though. Feels like forever though. What do you guys do if you dont mind me asking? And thanks for the abbreviation tip. That means I am on the 2ww :( Is everyone TTC #1?

ColleenD - June 13

Hey BabyRN! I'm a teacher so getting preg is my job this summer:) Yep, I am ttc#1 -STILL!! I used to want 2 or 3, but now I would be thrilled with just one. Yep, you're on the 2ww with me. I am on cd20 (too:) out of 28 days. I had profazi on cd14. Did yours hurt? I bet it is good to know that you are clear thanks to the dye. It would be great if we could both get BFP's at the same time. Dh just won't cooperate. He says if God wants it to happen it will. I bet labor & delivery would be rewarding and a harsh reminder at the same time. My best friend is aslo in L&D. She doesn't have children either. It is like being a teacher, people look at youdifferent when you're in those positions w/o kids. Nikki- You're right. It would suck if I was going through all of this for nothing. Hey Mega- Are you have a couple refreshments at 5 o'clock? If so, have one for me. That is the only + about AF showing up:) Have a good evening all my OHIO buds!!!!

nikki2204 - June 14

Hello all!
Yes, I think meeting where there is great shopping is an excellent idea! I just think it would be so nice to get together with a group who can all understand what you are going through, you know? Anyway, BabyRN, I am an office manager for Rite Rug, ever heard of it?

Mega - June 14

I also absolutely agree with the shopping thing! And it'll be so nice to talk about this single preoccupation in all our lives w/out seeing the eyes of those non-infertile types glazing over, you know?! BabyRN--I don't have the patience to wait the extra 3 mos. to get DH's sperm to regenerate post-surgery, so I think we're going to stick with IVF-ICSI, which carries such a good success rate I'm pretty excited about it actually. And nervous too. But til then we're taking a small break from all this to save $$$ & yes Colleen, I'll definitely drink a lot, & I'll drink one for you this week as your in the 2 ww. :) You're right, that is 1 positive of AF. What do you teach? What grade/grades? I'd love to back to school in a couple of years & get a teaching certificate. Maybe teach middle school english. Though I'd love to teach 2nd or 3rd graders, too cute! BabyRN--Yes, I'm still TTC #1. I work for a software company I'm in sales development, where I find sales opportunities and pass them along to AE's (account execs).

mommywannabe - June 14

Well had my HCG and per the doctor he said everything looked great, so we'll see what happens this month.

mommywannabe - June 14

Sorry ladies I meant my HSG yesterday not HCG. These abbreviations mess me all up. SORRY!

Mega - June 14

Mommywannabe--I wondered if that's what you meant. You'll learn the abbrevations, they get tricky at times. Anyway, I'm glad the HSG showed an all clear. Also, it's supposed to increase fertilty for 3 mos. as an added bonus so I hope that holds true in your case. Good luck!
