Okay girls, I'm trying to get psyched up for the hsg I have to get this month. I would love to hear anyone's story about how quick and painless it was or if anyone got pg shortly after. Not to be rude, but if your hsg was a horrible experience I'd rather wait until after mine is over to know b/c I have to get it done either way and am trying to knock the nerves down here ;) I do plan on taking naproxen beforehand for the discomfort... Thanks ladies!

Nicole, as you know I didn;t get pg after HSG. However, my doctor just delivered a baby that was conceived after an HSG. It inspired me for the 3 months after my HSG.

Nicole, I had an hsg and it was fine. I was really worried about it, but it really didn't hurt. It was no worse than a pap smear. And, my tubes were clear, so I felt good about that. Unfortunately, I didn't get pg after, but one of the girls that I post with on another thread..did! Good luck and don't worry..you'll be juuust fine. :)

Thanks for your positive words - I may be having it as early as Friday... the sooner the better. I'd like to get it over with! ;)

The HSG was my miracle test. I'm a big chicken and was completely terrified and for me it was no big deal at all. It was quick and only involved a couple of seconds of cramping at the very end. Plus it was a great relief to know that my tubes and uterus were fine. I have had 2 HSGs and both times I got pregnant in the 3 month window of increased fertility after the test. Unfortunately, the first time I m/c. I wound up having the second HSG not to check my tubes, but solely to try to recreate the conditions of the first time I got pregnant as I was not getting pregnant again. It worked. After 4 years of trying to get pregnant, this morning I am holding my beautiful 3 month old daughter. Good luck!!!

Nicole good luck on your HSG. I did mine about 2 months ago, and it wasn't too bad. I took some tylenol before I went and they actually had to force dye through one of my tubes which had slight blockage. Its was crampy but nothing to panic over. Good Luck!
