Hi- I took my last dose of Clomid today and I think it might be working this time, simply b/c I am getting side-effects I never got at lower doses. My problem is, I can't remember when I am supposed to have intercourse- on what day? I have an ovulation predictor kit, but have been told they can show a surge due to leftover Follistim in the body. Even the kits say to ask doctors about how Clomid will affect OP Kits.

Anyway, I would truly appreciate knowing approximately what days to try to conceive. Is it right after you stop taking it? Or maybe on day 14? I just want to know what the average time frame is. Today is day 9- just took last Clomid dose.

Thanks so much!

PS- I meant Clomid, NOT Follistim in the previous post. I've been taking Clomid for 5 days, not any Follistim. I think my hope for a new course of IVF got in the way of my thoughts. Anyway, I can't see a place to fix it, so it's just Clomid, and I tried to say that Clomid affects the OPTs. Thanks!

Hi jlw, I was told you can start testing 3 days after your last Clomid pill. I started testing around day 11 (I take clomid on days 2-6) and got my surge around day 15. My cycles on avg are 30days. Good luck I hope this helps.

JLW, I took 100mg of Clomid on days 5-9 and I get my surge on days 17 or 18. I hope this helps.

What I recommend you do is start having sex the week of approximate ovulation. So if you know you're how many days your cycle consists of, that'll help you out. For instance, if you have a 30 day cycle, starting day 11 until about day 19 have sex every other day to ensure the promise of a child. Don't solely rely on an ovulation kit to determine the actual day of ovulation. So long as there is sperm within you around the time you ovulate, you'll god-willing become pregnant. Good luck! :-)
