I need some advice from people that are going through the same thing that I am. I am 3 semesters from finishing nursing school and have just finished my first round of Lupron (6 months) and went to my doctor on tuesday. Basicaly my options are to either try and get pregnant or go back on birth control. The reason I started the Lupron was b/c my BC was no longer controlling my symptoms. My Dr. at first acted like she thought I should get pregnant b/c now would be a good time since I just finished the therapy. And by the end of the visit she was acting like it was just up to me whether I tried or not. I need to finish school b/c I am so close to finishing, but I also do not want to do anything that would hinder me from getting pregnant. Please if let me know what ya'll think

Tough situation. You are so close, like the hair on your chinny, chin, chin, to getting that completed degree, I can see how you would decide to keep going...that would mean you finish by mid-2007? How many months are we tabulating here until graduation? At the same time, your clock is ticking and (not sure what your problems are/symptoms) I would think that would supercede all other aspects of your life in many ways since it would remain in the back of your mind about the time you are letting go to finish school. In my opinion, which may not be worth anything, I think you should continue to try to have a baby. When you get pregnant, if you do, you can feel more comfortable about making a decision to continue with school during the pregnancy and who knows, you may only have to take off a semester if you do get pregnant to have the baby and then you can go back and finish it off, but at least you will have your dream/baby in your hands and not that burning worry of "did I make the right decision to wait." But please, that is just my opinion, really it all comes down to what you think. Good luck though.

hi, I know you probably don't want to hear this, but the truth is, only you can answer this question for yourself. Although it sounds like if you were to ttc now, your chances might be higher, the timing is a bit off, with all your schooling and all. Remember that you will only be three months along by the time you finish school, so your pregnancy might not interfere with your studies. Of course, that is assuming that you don't have any difficulties in your early pregnancy (most women don't but a few, like my sister, got very, very sick and had to quit her job---her baby was premie, but fine now)---but that is a risk you will be taking if you get pregnant right away. Of course, if you wait too long, you might be making it more difficult for yourself ttc later. It really is a dilemma. In the end, you have to way to know what the better choice is, you just have to weigh your options and decide what is best for you right now. Remember no matter what you decide "hindsite is always 20/20." And remember one thing, there never is a "perfect" time to have a child, there will always be something or other, whether that school, or work, or whatever, but if you are committed to your school and your efforts to ttc, I can't see why you couldn't do both (barring that your PG is healthy, of course). Good luck to you!
