Tink - November 21

Pam, yes unfortunately i've tried clomid- i was on it for 6 months straight. 4 months with just timed BD and 2 months iwth IUI. I responded extremely well---that is the kicker. i had 7 mature follicles and 4 eggs released both IUI cycles on clomid. but none of the 4 were fertilized, or they didn't implant or they were just not quality eggs i guess. who knows. I just did my first injectable cycle with follistim, only 3 mature follies---go figure, the shots are supposed to produce more right? or at least better quality eggs, but still a BFN. this was to be my fourth IUI and second round of shots. i won't go back to clomid- it gave me horrible side effects and did make me ovulate great, but obviously that isn't our problem. either DH isn't penetrating the egg or my egg is sucky quality. i don't have PCOS or anything. i had a lap in october to remove 5 spots of endo and one cyst. now another one. thanks for the info on caffeine Linds- that will be a hard one to stay away from, but i do have caffeine free diet dp at the house. i don't do coffee or tea. just a coke a day usually. i have been a bum and not worked out in like 4 months. i usually love it- i love lifting weights (no, i am not a bulky chic! lol)- but i am usually in pretty good shape. wiht all the side effects, i let it go- i didn't feel good enough to work out. so i plan to take this 'month off' as a time to get back to the gym and use it as a way to release some of that anger and feelings hopefully.

Tink, just so you know, you can actually respond "too well" to clomid by developing too many eggs. We think they are all mature eggs, or at least a few are mature and have eggs in them, but that doesn't necessarily help fix a problem that occurs when you have many eggs crowding the ovaries. This actually can, and is proven, to impair ovulation too because it may make the actual release of the egg become compromised by the crowding and possibly the eggs are then impaired from being swept up in to the fallopian tubes properly. That is why I was always hoping to only develop one good egg on each ovary with clomid, not the 3 or four dominant eggs each cycle on each ovary, it just, to me at least, was compromising ovulation.

Tink, just so you know, that diet cola you drink has aspartame in it, which is being studied right now on the effects on human DNA. Although it is "safe" to consume according to the FDA, there are ongoing studies about the detrimental effects it has on humans over time. Also, every book I have read on pregnancy talks about eliminating chemicals in the diet, and aspartame is always on that list. Try dumping the cola, and maybe try a non caffeine tea for comfort or a fruit smoothie.

Hi all, busy here this afternoon. Tink, sorry to hear about all that is going on. That stinks, but like it was said, think of it as a healing and regrouping time. I'm sorry I don't have any advice about different drugs etc. Hugs. Pm, I just finished doing a study that was at The Cove and it was said it was near Ashe. I am up here in Ontario but will be travelling thru shortly as we leave for vacation in Florida over the Christmas break.. long drive with 3 kids in a minivan. Linds..sounds like we are on the same cycle. My af cramps have stopped, maybe, just maybe we could get a BFP. After all these months we shouldn't hold our breath though-lol. Angelkitty, how are you doing. I loved your rollercoaster analogy! hugs to all. Tink, it WILL happen for you, I guess know it!

Lovemy3, How are you doing this morning?? anything new to report?

lovemy3 - November 22

Good morning everyone. Nothing to report here, which is good! CD30 and no af. I o'd cd20 so really af is still too early. If its coming, it would be thurs or friday. My af symptoms however have completely disappeared which is very unusual. I still haven't gone to a store and bought a HPT because last month I was addicted to them and swore never again till cd32 or cd33. So, I'm sticking to my guns and avoiding our Walmart-lol. So thats it here. Every month to my friends here, I say "oh no big deal, if it happens it happens, etc" I tend to act like "ya it would be great, but if it doesn't thats fine too" but thats not true, I DO want it really badly, and I am sad when it doesn't ya know. Anyhow, just thought I'd throw that in. Pam, how is your bleeding? Slowing down any? When women m/c do you not usually have to have a d and c? How about you Linds and Angel kitty with your cycles. I think we are almost expecting our afs at the same time. Tink, how are you feeling today? Any better? Hugs. Do they say it will just be this cycle to sit out? I hope so. ttyl XOXO

Pmblake...I live in Asheville!!!! We moved here recently from Raleigh!!! Have you ever heard of Blue Mountain Pizza in Weaverville? You and your DH should try it and then have dessert at the Well Bread Bakery which is right across the street! I am doing good - if AF is coming she should be here around Sat or Sun. Nothing feels any different this cyycle than it has any other cycle with maybe the exception of I have not had any cramping yet. A good diet soda is Diet Rite - if I am not mistaken it does not have aspartame in it but it still may not be healthy for you. Any thoughts Linds? It is so funny - my mom smoked cigarettes and drank enough coffee and coke (not diet coke either) and tea to sink the Titanic and she had 3 healthy girls! Now here I am trying to stay away from any and everything that could possibly hinder pregnancy!! Even my sister is a soda drinker and eat fast food and here she is pregnant! :o) I think I am going to buy a six pack of diet soda and then head to the drive thru at McDonald's and if I really feel up to it Imay make a huge pot of regular coffee!!! LOL!!! You just can't figure it out! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Lovemy3 - you have already celebrated Thanksgiving right???

lovemy3 - November 22

Angelkitty, Thats right ours was back in October. Thats funny about the diet coke and fast food. I have to confess, that was me before and had 3 myself. Also, I had gestional diabetes and each time by my high risk dr, I was advised to drink only diet coke if I wanted a soda. I called this Motherisk poison line and inquired about it and they said it was fine. Due to my diabetes, when I did have a soda I did drink it during my pregnancy. Now reading your posts here I'm nervous, but the damage is done because they are all born already, years ago for that matter-lol. I hope they weren't affected. Now I know for next time. But its funny you say that about your sister, cuz I was the same way and concieved right away. I think this time, I'm too healthy-lol. ttyl

You girls are quiet today-- how are we all?

angelkitty - November 22

I am good today! When I get off of work i have run my cat to the vet...we just took our other cat to the vet for some issues she was having ...280.00 later and a bag of prescription cat food she is ok and doing good. I have to laugh - I feel like my two kitties are preparing me for motherhood - accidents on the floor, meowing in the middle of the night, the fussing they do, the emergency doctors visits...yep I am going to be a good mom!!!!

lovemy3 - November 22

Glad to hear your kitty is good. Hope everything is good today. Nothing going on here. All af symptoms have disappeared for the time being, but since its not really supoose to appear for the next day or so, they could still appear in horrid form. How are you feeling?

angelkitty - November 22

I am not having any symptoms at all...nothing to report. No cramps, been a little moody but no major pms. I am just ok. I gave up on trying to read my symptoms b/c pms and pregnancy symptoms are so closely related from what i have read. I am just hanging out and smiling and waiting. Do you have big plans for the weekend?
