got the results back. we're all clear. asked her if we were diagnosed as 'unexplained infertily' but she said right now we were categorized as 'sub-fertile' becuase we've only been trying for 6 months. 6 months!! i said, try almost 2 yrs!!! but she said that beause of my cyst, the knew that was the reason for the first year we didn't get pg. 6 months is from the surgery date (cyst removal). so she has given me a Rx for clomid which i will take when/if i get my next af, probably on oct. 8. i feel somewhat relieved about this news but at the same time pissed again because now we have nothing to blame it on. oh well, go with the flow i guess, in more ways than one!!! haha. there's my update. i really hope you're feeling better. my thoughts are with you. kim.

Hi Kim! Well, thats good news, at least hes okay, right? But its still frustrating all the same. I cant remember, but are your cycles regular? I was just wondering why she would want to put you on Clomid? and the cyst, was it on your ovaries? was it painful? (I hope Im not being too nosey). No, my dh is okay, either way, hes happy with the two he has, (hes a great dad) but if we had another it wouldnt make a difference. He knows how badly I want one, so hes totally supportive and understanding. I took a pg test today. Kim, I dont know why I do, but its almost like I look at the stick and say to myself, "Come on pink line, come on" you know what I mean!! I must think if I look at it hard enough, it will appear or something. Im nuts!!! (ha). I have to laugh, or Ill cry. I told my sister we were pretty much done, and she about had a cow! I love her dearly, but she makes me so mad sometimes. She has three, had them by her husband looking at her, and she totally doesnt understand how emotionally draining this is for me. I usually cant talk to her for too long, or else I start crying and end up a big mess. anyway, sorry to keep going on and on. Im still glad everything was okay for you. So whats your next step?? Please keep in touch and let me know how your doing.

I had my hsg done a couple of weeks ago...not bad at all. Definitely take the motrin. Found out my cervix was closed...doc opened it. My tubes looked good no blockage. Let me know how it turns out.

hey angel kitty, thanks for your response!! unfortuately i had my HSG last week and it wasn't pretty! mary, i forgot to tell you this as well. when i went into my appt this afternoon the first thing she asked me was how was the HSG for me. i told her it was excrutiating and the worst pain i'd ever been thru. to which she responded, ya, about that, there's a reason for it being so painful. long story short- the catheter didn't make it into my uterus it went into a vessel, that's why they had so much trouble reading the xrays and why it was so painful. so now we don't know for sure if my tubes are blocked. i'm so dumb i asked if that meant i had no uterus!!!! that should give you a laugh mary!! about the clomid- my cycles are somewhat reg, meaning i get a period every month around a 28 day cycle, but the actual flow part has been differing lately. i think she's just giving me an extra boost with her prescribing it. i'm only doing it for 3 cycles not the typical 6. i kind of knew that clomid would be the next step for me, and here it is. about the cyst- yes, it was on my ovary, but no it wasn't painful. i mean i felt it sometimes when i had my knees pulled up to my chest, but how could you not feel something that was 9cm big stuck to your ovary!! how far into your cycle are you mary? are your cycles reg? what made you test today? were you on the pill before you started trying again? have you had your bloodwork done lately or an u/s? kim.

hello girls, i'm going through exactly the same thing. i'm actually getting a hsg done this afternoon so not sure how it will go. dh and i have been trying for nearly 1 1/2 years now. he had a SA done and they said his sperm count was fine but his motility was below average - though they did not think it was problem. i am clomid right now, 3rd month so we'll see what happens. I was given clomid to regulate my cycles as they were between 30 - 39 days, though this will be the last month i take clomid as i do ovulate on my own and the clomid isn't going to do anything more than help me ovulate anyway. i hope i can chat with you!

Ciara, goodluck on your HSG!! Hey Kim, you totally made my day when you asked the nurse about you and your uterus!!!!! (HA). did she look at you like "Hello?! that was cute. Yes, my cycles are regular, always have been, 28-29 days. I ovulate on days 14 or 15. I havent had bloodwork lately, but when I had my FSH, Estrogen and TSH it was all okay, so was the Prolactin. I am on Synthorid for my thyroid, but that always comes back in check. So go figure. I was thinking maybe having my dh checked again to see if the WBCs are back and maybe doing some antibiotics again if they are. Kim, I just dont know, Im at a loss. Hey, I wanted to ask, Ive seen ladies on here talk about those suppliments, like Fertiaid, etc. Have you known of anyone on these and they got preg? They also have them for men. At this point, Ill try anything, you know what I mean?!!! My af isnt due til either the 3rd or 4th, I always test a few days before, I guess anticipation, but Im always getting the BFN. It like I know!!!! I know, Im weird!!! (Ha). No, Ive never been on birth control, have always done NFP. I know my cycles like the back of my hand. Anyway, Kim, keep in touch.

hello ciara, hope you didn't read my last post before you went into your HSG!!! i had an HSG horror story! let us know how yours went. mary, i have heard of fertiaid, but that's it. i was just reading someones question on "ovulex" and it sounded really good. i asked my dr when i was at my appt but she had never heard of it. i googled "ovulex" and the pages that came up sounded awesome. it's a herbal that does a bunch of stuff. you could try looking into that. also i heard really good things about "maca root powder". i took it for a while (tho not enough to actually do anything) and i got a write up about it in the health food store, it's supposed to be a wonder drug of all sorts. you could look into that as well. if you got your dhs sperm washed again, that should give you a better chance at getting pg? does it cost a lot? i would for sure do it and then make like rabbits!!! i think that we have been doing it on the wrong days. i always thought that you o'd on cd10, but my dr just told me that we should be doing it from cd8-16 because you o on cd14. good to know!! but i think, really, if we've been unprotected for 2 yrs, something definately should have happened by now. btw, what does NFP mean?? chat later, kim.

ciara, i'm about to try clomid for the first time- what's it like? do you really have terrible moodswings or become really bloated? i know it's probably different for everyone, but some insight, that doesn't come from a list of side effects on the internet, would be great!! thanks, kim.

marymo - October 2

Hey Kim. thanks for all the info. I googled maca root and read about it. Sounds interesting. Believe it or not, I ordered my dh the Fertilaid. I figured why not give it a try. Hes okay with taking it, I kinda had to convince him about it. I told him not to worry, nothing will fall off!! (Ha). It would be awesome if the suppliment worked. NFP stands for Natural Family Planning. Its knowing when and when not to have intercourse basically. By ways of cervical mucous and having a regular cycle as myself. Ive never done the pill, to scared about the side effects plus its kind of a no-no with the Catholic church. How are things going with you. Did you start the Clomid yet? Let me know how it goes. take care.

kim d - October 2

i will have to google the fertilaid too. is it just for your dh or are you taking it as well? no, haven't started the clomid, i will fill the Rx when i get me period on or around the 8th. kind of excited, we both are actually. i'm trying not to get my hopes up though. i was with a girl last night who concieved her 2 girls on clomid and was open to me picking her brain, but i didn't. don't know why i didn't. oh well. ttyl marymo!! good luck with the fertilaid!! let me know how it goes!! kim.

kim d - October 2

ciara, how did your HSG go? let us know!!

marymo - October 4

Hey Kim, how are you doing. sorry havent gotten back to you sooner, my son is loosing his tooth, and its been a major crisis to him. He wont let me pull it, he freaks out if I even touch it. (Ha). Havent gotten the Fertilaid yet, still waiting for it to come. I didnt get it, my DH is the one maybe who should try it first? I dont know. I was seriously thinking maybe me too, I guess it wouldnt hurt. My lovely AF came yesterday, like I predicted. I wish she would just go on a long vacation and never come back!!! Let me know how the Clomid goes when you start. Take care.

kim d - October 4

hi marymo! ya, i was wondering if the fertilaid was just for your dh. its sounds a lot like the ovulex, both regulate the system and horomones and whatnot. can't wait to hear how he goes on it!! you could be pg in the next couple of cycles!!!! and then you will have more teeth to pull around the house!!! i was bad. a friend of mine asked if i would pick some tshirts up at the gap for her (she lives out of town) and of course they're in the kids section, so you have to go by the baby section, and i couldn't help myself. i saw the jacket that made me want to start ttc'ing but in brown. so i bought it. and then i bought a little toque. it's a white cable knit one with little bear ears on it. i called the bf and asked if i should get it and he said if it makes you happy and i said well, brown would be good for a boy and he said ok ya get it!! seriously, i started ttc'ing because of a jacket. i went in there to get something, actually, now that i think of it it was for the little girl i was getting the tshirts (what a weird coincidence!!), for her shower and saw this perfect white super soft jacket. but when i got it home i noticed that it had little ears on the hood. well, that was it. the clock finally started ticking and i had to begin ttc'ing so that i could put my own little baby in something that cute. i went back and got one for myself. and startedd ttc'ing that New Years Eve. now my collection has grown and i'm still sans child. i have been really good up until now, with the buying of things. i think it's just all this past month has been about fertility so it's kicked me into baby mode again. probably should tighten the reigns a bit tho, don't want another year like last. hope the tooth fairy comes soon for your little man!!! good luck this month marymo!!!! it will happen for us, it just has too!!!! kim.

oh yeah, my af is supposed to start on the 8th, and i can already tell that she's coming. b*#ch. i really don't have any use for her right now!!!!

ciara - October 4

Hi girls! sorry i haven't had a chance to write - had friends over this weekend and just didnt get a chance to get on the computer. My HSG was sooo painful - i even screamed out in pain - i was so pathetic! But the good news is that my tubes are clear. i had a bit of bleeding afterwards. Just wish i could figure out why i can't conceive now! I only take 50mg clomid - just to shorten my cycles - which seems to work, today i am on only on cd 13 but my fertility monitor shows peak. But this is the 3rd month on clomid so i am not feeling too positive about my chances. i've been quite lucky i've not had any side effects on the clomid but i think it must be because i am taking the smallest dose. My Dr told me to take it days 1-5 and that you should ovulate between 5 - 10 days after your last pill. Feeling down today though as found out one of my friends is now pregnant - we both sort of started trying the same time and now she's 2 months and i am still nowhere.

ciara - October 4

kim and marymo - i read that vitex, red clover and dong quai are very good for regulating your hormones and improving your cycles. i have taken them though of course i can't say that they are a success as i haven't conceived yet but i have read a lot of success stories on those. i know that ovulex contains those and a lot of people prefer to take those natural supplements individually so you know exactly what you are taking. However i read that some of these supplements may cause uterine contractions too so you should only take them until you ovulate. they are worth a try and taking them won't cause any harm as long as you take the recommended amounts. hope you girls are well and that AF is not going to visit you this month!
