When should I start Clomid?

I just got a new prescription for Clomid. My Doc says to start on day 5-9. So here's the problem: I spotted yesterday morning, have had mild cramps ever since but still haven't really started full force yet. So when is "Day 1"? Was it yesterday, or will it be when I really start? Has anyone else had this problem?

It is so stressful - I completely understand! I would double check with your doctor FOR SURE... but I know your day 1 is your first day of "flow", not spotting... I usually go by the first day I have to use a tampon. Smiles... - T

Actually, I have one more question:
Do you, or does anyone out there, know the difference as to why some women take it on days 3-7 and others (most) on days 5-9?

I believe it has more to do with doctor's preference... women react differently to it too... I took it on days 5-9 for my first 3 cycles and on days 4-8 for this cycle. The reading I have done on-line varies, some say that you can produce more eggs taking it earlier, some disagree. I would again, ask your doctor. Smiles!

shellster i have heard that days 3-7 produce more follicles i just went today for an u/s and i h ave 6 good follicles so i will probably get hcg trigger shot tomorrow
