Hey PM, nothing online talks about lh surge which lasts more then 3 days. They say sometimes it could last 3 dyas but it is very uncommon. Can you call your doctor? I think it will be the best thing at this point. Also can the injectibles be causing a false +OPK? I need to look into that.

Hi Mommy2josh and Lovemy3! I think I'm officially on the downside of this. I have taken 2 tests today and both result lines are very bold but thinner and just a bit lighter than the control line.. They were much thicker and darker. Good sign?? I have called my drs office and of course he's out today but the nurse will talk to him about it tomorrow. Mommy2josh, I agree about the findings on the internet. 3 days max. I can't find anything about 80 hours. I just wish I'd run out of tests! I wouldn't even know this was happening if I wasn't testing 5 x a day. And that's an interesting point about the false positives.. I"ll check into it. Results on Friday or Monday? Do you feel like you O'd? I know you don't bbt but do you ever take temps throughout the day? usually after I O I feel hot all day for the 2ww. My face always feels flushed and my temp will be somewhere around 98. It's so cold around here these days I can' t tell if I'm hot or not. I'm just cold down here in the south.

I am not sure if I will get results on Friday. I would if I would go to the RE office, but that takes me about 30 minutes out of my way (on the way to work). I will most likely go to my lab and beg the girl to put a rush on it, I know her for many years. So we'll see. I have period like cramps right now. I dont know what that is all about. I never know when I ovulate, I never really have any symptoms. As for the temp, I am way too dense for that. I cant even remember to take my vitamins half of the time. ; )

I'm crampy today too. It just kinda started. Lower back and a little up front around ovaries... Let me know about your test results! I will most likely wait until monday to go. In speaking w/ the nurse we both agreed this week may be too early. I could be Oing right now. I just dont' know.

pmblake, the hcg shot ccan cause you to have + OPK's. so you may have a + OPK for a while as long as the HCG is in your system. So, after you administer the shot, assume you will ovulate within a maximum of 48 hours after administration. You will still get the + OPK's for several days while the HCG is declining. This is why some women will use OPK's as HPT's, because LH and HCG are almost identical in structure and an OPK picks up HCG as well LH. Where as, the HPT will only detect HCG. Hopefully this helps you a little! Good luck girl!!!

I believe I've solved the mystery about my ultra long surge. Anyone who disagrees PLEASE tell me. This is what I found on peeonastick.com . There's a page dedicated to those who use an OPK to detect pregnancy. An OPK detects LH and HCG. SInce I had a trigger shot of like 10,000 iu of HCG - that's alot of HCG still floating around in me thus the positive OPK! How does that sound? Sounds good to me b/c I'm stil "surging tonight!"

Tonia! You;re the best! I just got your post! I figured it out right as you were typingt! Thanks so much for you info. I feel so much better now. I was worried about an ovary bursting! Now I just need to hope that i did truly O. A progesterone test will tell!

Well that was up for debate. The u/s tech wasn't very good... She saw one really good one and my doctor said I should have several smaller ones that could mature before I took the trigger. I did 50mg of serophene this cycle. Not much so I didn't expect much. But it only takes one!
