DH & I are on month 5 of ttc. I have gyn appt. in 2 weeks to "check things out" but in the meantime, is there anything that anyone has heard that is especially good to eat when you are ttc? I know the obvious, fruits, veggies. I'm just wondering if there is anything that I'm missing????

Around Ov. time try eating more baby carrots & perhaps drinking grapefruit juice. Plus lots of water, of course. Those should all help with your CM. I've also heard to eats lots of pineapple after you O, to help with possible implantation. The selenium in pineapple is supposed to be good for you. Green tea is another good thing to drink a lot of, preferably decaf. My non-TTC friend always makes fun of me, but I'm always trying new "baby-making" foods. :) HTH! Good luck at your OB appt.

Dont drink green tea. I just got this from a friend tonight: "For those of you concerned with neural tube defects, a word of caution about green tea:

Recent studies conducted by the CDC, and later by the EU (see examples at the following links: www.jic.bbsrc.ac.uk/corpo...050315.htm or
www.teascience.or.kr/misc.htm) have found that women who consume 1 to 2 cups of green tea within 3 months of conception and in their first trimester have double the risk of having a baby with spina bifida and anencephaly, because a certain antioxidant (EGCG) found in green tea inhibits folate activity. Those who consumed 3 or more cups of green tea a day tripled their risk." I checked out the link and its enough to make me stop drinking my green tea.
