What male hormones did dh have checked ?

Has anyones dh been tested for hormone levels when doing fertility testing as a regular thing or did you have to ask for it? I'm just wondering if we should be looking into this as dh has low counts (washed he's anywhere from 3,000-12,000) but I wonder if I should be asking for his testosterone,progesterone, lh, prolactin, fsh, free testosterone etc to be checked. What have your doctors done for your dh's testing other than regular sperm analysis?

My Dh had his testosterone and FSH tested.

Leilani14 what do those mean for guys if they are low or high. I might need dh to get some things tested too. Did you have to ask them to be done or were they just tested as routine?

DHs urologyst did the tests. We didn't have to request them. Testosterone is responsible for sperm production, so low testosterone is not good. testosterone is made from FSH. Sometimes when both FSH and testosterone are low, dr may prescribe Clomid that boasts FSH productiona, and with it the testosterone goes up and helps sperm producyion. If FSH is normal, but testosterone is low, that indicates a posible testicular failure and there is no medication for that. Take care
