I'm going to start my first round of clomid and I was curious what effects will just having one tube have on the outcome? Anyone know or have like situations??? Please send some encouragement. Thanks!

I'M IN THE SAME SITUATION AS YOU!!
I have one tube blocked (surgically) bc of a hydrosalpinx...my left tube is open and it is ok, however i've had an ectopic in that tube....it is best to know what is blocking the tube...if it is fluid then clomid will not help b/c it will kill the embryo either before or after implantation...if it is blocked w/ adhesions, you should be careful b/c it is a chance of an ectopic as w/ endo...anyway, if you don't have fluid in that tube, then taking clomid could help produce more than one follicle, hopefully on the side w/ your open tube... so that can help your chances of conceiving. good luck. if you have any more questions let me know.

wantamiraclebaby, my tube is blocked b/c of endo. So will the clomid make me ovulate from both or alternate from one to another. I'm sorry I'm kind of dumb on this subject b/c I've never kept track of when I ovulated. I'm so excited but then again terrified b/c I'm scared this is going to bring back all the symptoms of the endo. I've already gain so much weight that my esteam level is low. Anyway just trying to understand. Thanks so much!

oh, there is no need to apologize. I was once in your shoes...not knowing!
yes, clomid could help you ovulate from both ovaries...for an example...with me i did clomid cd 3-7 and I had 4 mature follicles my last cycle of cd 3-7 on clomid my follicles were 18,18,21 on my open side and 24 on my closed side. unfortunately, i didnt' conceive...dont' know why, maybe my left tube isn't moveable who knows. so you can get eggs from both ovaries to grow and ovulate. to ovulate all of them, you may want to ask your doc about hcg (trigger shot) ovidrel...it release all the MATURE EGGS!

wantamiraclebaby, thanks so much!!! You know I've been reading alot and my doctor isn't doing any us or anything during this process. They just said to take the provera for 10 days, on the 5th day of my af take clomid till day 9 then after that call them back. Is that normal? I'm trying not to get excited but it's hard. Have any tips for me while I'm doing this that might help along with clomid?
Thanks agian... sometimes it seems I'm alone even on the threads b/c no one responds. : ) baby dust to you

Sure, i have plenty...when you take clomid...take it at night! drink plenty of water... i know w/ me clomid dried me out...but i did manage to get pregnant during those times (one was a m/c and the other was an ectopic) but, for some reason, i think this time around, my mucus may not be beneficial to my husband's "Marines" lol. anyway, i would try preseed...that is if you want...it helps you w/ the mucus... you can purchase it on amazon.com or just look up www.preseed.com ummmmmm...oh as far as what you were told...u must be seeing an OB...they don't monitor your cycles on clomid. i would however ask for a 21 day progesterone test! that will determined that you ovulated and if it was a nice strong ovulation. also, you may want to temp using www.fertilityfriend.com it is free...you may also want to buy a basal body thermometer to help w/ the temping....take it the same time each morning before getting out of bed or doing anything.

Awesome!!! I really do appreciate it. I'm buying preseed and a book someone told me about. Taking charage of my fertility or something along those line.
Take clomid at night? Really...? Will i be getting up sick at night?
Yep I'm seeing an OB. She kept threatening to send me to an RE, but I think she wants to try this for now. The closest RE is an hour +/- away.
Can I ask you... my DH hasn't had an SA yet, the doc hasn't recommended one either. BUT I saw in Walgreens the other day an over the counter SA at home thing. Do you think I should get that and have DH do it, would it be accurate enough? I'm so concerned to do all this and spend money and him have a problem too. OR am I being paranoid?!!

wantamiraclebaby - October 26th, 2007 7:23 PM

MEMILLNER!!! nope you will not wake up sick, however, you MAY experience hot flashes...but they may or may not come until after the last pill. that is when i always experienced mine. I wouldn't get the SA for dh at the store...i dont' think it is effective enough, however, it is your choice. i can't believe your doc put you on clomid w/o seeing if dh also has a problem. my ob at the time didn't want to put me on clomid if my husband had SA problems. i would have him go and get a SA done. some men do not agree to that, but ask them if you could go in with him... hopefully they will let you. You arent being paranoid, youre being concerned b/c you've dealt w/ IF. but the thing is when you're taking clomid...don't read into too many signs or symptoms...those pills do have the tendency to imitate pregnancy symptoms.

memillner - October 29th, 2007 12:07 PM

Hey there hope you had a good weekend!
Yeah the provera is making my breast hurt so bad. TMI... but I can't stand to take my bra off b/c they're so sore! Oh well it's worth it.
Yeah I'm suppose to call the doc soon so I'll ask about DH's sa. He's agreed to it so it will be fine. I think he's nervous though.
I take my last pill of provera tonight. So hopefully af will show up in a day or so then I can take the clomid. I think my ob is just doing the clomid to get my cycle going again, honestly. Not so much to target getting pregnant. Know what I mean, even though I would love to get pregnant now!
Thanks hope you have a great day today.
