Hi all,
I am new to this forum and was relieved to stumble upon it.
I realize that we are trying to conceive later in life but I have been dealing with many health problems and have not been well enough to even consider ttc until this year. My husband and I have been married a very long time so this has been very frustrating for us. Sorry if my post is lengthy but I thought it best to give as much info as I can. Really hope that some of you will have the patience to read it.
I have been using natural progesterone cream 3% for a number of years to control endometriosis. Unfortunately the doctor who first prescribed it to me did not test my progesterone levels prior to putting me on the cream so I do not know what my natural levels were at the time. For the first few years I was using the cream from Day5 of my cycle until my period arrived. It really helped to control my endo. I was on quite a high dose, much higher than I am presently on. Then when we started to ttc I only started to use if after ovulation (as detected by an LH surge test kit) up until my period begins. Ever since I started using it this way my cycles have shortened and my cramps and endo are worse. My cycles used to be around 27-29 days, now they are about 24-26 days. I have also developed some unwanted facial hair in the past couple of years, since I made changes to my dose.
I am so upset by all of this and frustrated due to my age and lack of fertile cycles left.
I am getting surgery for my endo around Christmas and at that time my tubes will also be flushed. I am afraid that there is something other than my endo causing these problems. If anybody has any ideas I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks so much and I wish you all the very best of luck in your quest for pregnancy.

Hi there. I sympathize with you. I just did my first cycle of IVF and it didn't work and am thinking of trying again. I also had bad endometriosis, and only found out how bad when I did laparoscopy to remove ovarian cysts. I did the test with the dye and the x-ray to show that both of my tubes were open, but due to surgeries, I ended up with scar tissue which resulted in me having an ectopic preg earlier this year. Just let them be very careful when they go in to remove your endometriosis, will you? Let me know what date your procedure is and I'll be praying for you. Best of luck!

Hi Camille,
Thanks so much for your response to my post.
Sorry to hear that you are also struggling with ttc and to hear of your ectopic. That must have been very difficult for you. You mentioned that your tubes were open. Did they establish this at the same time they performed your laporoscopy? Did the scar tissue develop after your recent lap? Or did you have an HSG prior to your recent lap?
I have found that eating too much dairy product flares up my endo. Apparently cows are given estrogen to make them produce more milk. This estrogen in turn flares up our endo. Some people have luck eating organic dairy as they don't use hormones as far as I know. I don't seem to be able to eat any kind of dairy at the moment.
I haven't got a surgery date set up yet, I am waiting and waiting for the doc's to call me. Thanks for saying that you will be praying for me, I in turn will do the same for you. Very best wishes.
