Georgiatoo, since you are seeing new RE in January I would not do clomid again. First because if you want to do injectables soon, then it's good to give your body a wee break so you can start from scratch. I mean think about it, what if your ovaries are enlarged when you go to start injectables? They will cancel your cycle and you will have to wait that out anyway. And the second reason is you don't want to be on clomid for more than 6 months, so what if your new doc wanted to try something new that included clomid? You just never know. I did clomid for three cycles and then moved to a new RE. I could have done a fourth cycle, but I wanted to save my opportunities in case he had a better idea. I took the month before seeing my new RE off from meds so that I could be open to anything he suggested because I knew he was good and wanted to be ready. Just my opinion though. I also may sound pessimistic when I say this, but I was told that if clomid has not worked by the third time, that the odds of it working are drastically lowered after that. Save yourself for the good stuff!

Thanks Tracy - I appreciate the advice - I had also heard that about Clomid, but I suppose I'm just feeling desperate :) I can't imagine that we used to try to get pg just by bd'ing - seems so wierd now! Anyway I agree, I will wait until the visit to the new re. How are you feeling? Are you tired of everyone asking you that all the time :) Dana, thanks for understanding "the day". It's funny, the first week of the 2ww I'm always so optomistic, then as week 2 begins to come to a close and I'm feeling just like I always do before af arrives my mood begins to crash. Oh well, I just keep trudging along trying to have a baby before I turn 65!! Well, at least I still have my sense of humor. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend - I'm telling you good news is just around the corner :)

Georgia, I am feeling very well, thanks for asking. Headaches have stopped, morning sickness has passed, now the only thing I deal with is boredom. I need to find something to do with my time outside the home. I went back to work 2 days a week, but that's not enough to stimulate me. I know I sounded pushy with my advice, but if I didn't believe it was the right thing to do, then I wouldn't have shared it at all. I just know how much better it made me feel going into my new doc's office with a clean slate. I know how hard it is to go through each and every TWW, so my heart goes out. Just keep your chin up and stay strong!

Hi all, quick post. Kristi, good for you for taking such a well deserved break. I know just how you feel. A cruise sounds like a divine way to distract yourself from ttc! :) I did 2 IUI's and never did the shot, but it didn't work anyway, so ... I took Clomid for 2 months, then a month break, then 3 months. I too was told that taking it longer than 3 months won't get you pg, if it works, apparently it's almost always in the first 3 months. Tracy, I'm glad you're feeling better, and YAY that you're out of the first trimester! Georgia, yep..I hear you. It's funny how we think we're the only ones feeling the way we do... When we share our feelings/stories, it seems pretty obvious that we all really need each other for understanding and support, because we really do 'get it'. Thanks for being here for me and for each other! Oh,and Happy Bd-ing Dana! :)

Rachel, I don't feel anything either. Add to that we just had a huge snowstorm and we have been house-bound all day, so I am a bit bummed also. Meme, I also appreciate your sharing the info that your RE said about the lap. It is nice to hear what my RE said repeated by yours! I am going to have a lap procedure after this round, then we will move on to injectibles. Supposedly my lining has been "beautiful" and that was what I always thought the problem was--lack of implantation. GMH sorry about your feelings of discouragement. Definitely there have been many stories of women getting pregnant at our age and with those numbers. Have you tried any alternatives like a Chinese herbalist, etc? I wouldn't do that and the fertilty drugs though. I have to agree with Natasha about your day 3 FSH. Your RE should be recommending IVF right now. Why is he/she waiting? You have been in treatment for 2 1/2 years and frankly, that seems like a long time not to move on to more serious procedures. Rachel, Clomid will keep working for a couple of cycles AFTER you quit it, so it may be a good idea to stop. A friend of mine got pregnant on her 6th, though. Have you read the Clomid inserts that come with your pills? I think it even says in there that you don't want to take it more than a certain number of cycles. Don't be freaked out if you have a hard time cycling normally for a couple of months. That stuff is bizarre. Good luck all. We could use some more good news on this board. Laurie

Hi ladies! I missed you all. My computer crashed a little over a week ago and I finally got it back from the repair shop (actually, my dad was fixing it and he is slooooow!). I don't think he got everything worked out, though, because I am still getting this wierd msn error message. Sigh. First things, I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. I got to go be pampered by my mom. Nice. Plus, the four days off were wonderful! tynadu, welcome. I am sending positive baby vibes your way. Georgia, thanks for declaring December the month for our bfps. It is time for us to finally get our wish! Dana, good luck with this month. I think mixing up things will be helpful, and a whole lot more fun! Meme, good luck with the lap. I like the way your doctor thinks. Mine didn't think I needed a lap because I have no symptoms. I'll probably always wonder now if a lap would've made things easier. Gmh, I totally feel the pain of high fsh. Mine reached the level of 13. I am an advocate of acupuncture as a way of lowering fsh. It took mine down to 8, a small miracle for me. I am currently undergoing meds for ivf as my solution to the fsh issue. I am only 34. Natasha, did you get the call from your dr and set up an appointment for ivf or are you still waiting for that part. I know what you mean about the pressure being off while you wait for the next step. It is a little freeing. I didn't count my days last month and only know where I am this month because I just had af. Otherwise, I am just doing what they tell me to do. It is nice. Kristi, good luck with the Iui! I'm not familiar with Femara because I went the gonal f route. You can't beat $40 a month for meds! That is really reasonable. Georgia, good luck with the new RE. It is amazing how important the doctor is in this process. I'm so sorry about the bfn. :-( Tracy, so glad you are feeling better! Morning sickness and headaches are probably no fun at all (although I would love to have them both!). Now you get the chance to enjoy the pregnancy! Yeah. Laurie, I can't imagine being snowed in. I haven't really ever been in snow for longer than an hour. It has been cold enough here (the 40s) and that is about all I can take before I am a human popcicle. I am a true california girl I guess. Where are you in your cycle, if you don't mind my asking? As for me, I officially started meds on monday. I take 4 shots a day, 2 in the morning and 2 at night. I am on gonal f and lupron, then will switch to lupron and menapur tomorrow and then who knows what. At my scan yesterday, they counted around 8 eggs, but couldn't see all of them on my left. I sure hope I make a lot of them! I go back to the dr on sunday for another scan and bloodwork. They are saying an estimated retrieval date of the 7th but nothing is set in stone yet. I am excited but very nervous. I guess we'll see how everything plays out. Well, I should go fix dinner as my dh just got home. I will write more later. Baby dust, Stacie

Sorry about the novel! I'm just long winded!

Hey Tracy, you were not being pushy at all - it really helps to have people to ask, plus I totally agree - Clomid just is not doing the trick for me. I'm looking forward to the new re and January. I know you are probably going stir crazy at home - When I feel like that I always try to find some charity work - this is going to sound selfish, but It always makes me feel better after I help someone. I usually put in a few hours at the battered women's day shelter - it's hard to see, but maybe I'm helping a little bit. Every time I go I bring a few things from my closet that I have not worn in FOREVER - keeps my closet neater and sometimes the women at the shelter get some great stuff! Natasha, it definately has helped me to know I'm not the only one - it was very isolating before I found you guys. Laurie, what cd are you? We're definately going to go "au-natural" for December - wouldn't it be funny if I got pg from leftover Clomid!! Wow, I really am the eternal optimist :) Stacie, I wish you the best this cycle - I'm excited for you! Oh, btw - me 12dpiui - bfn this am and temp drop lots of cramps. The good news is I can enjoy some chardonnay this weekend - I think I miss that the most! Lots of baby dust for our December BFP's - we've got 29 days left!!

NatashaV - December 3

Hi ladies, nothing much to report - I'm cd 12 today and should be O-ing (bd-ing) around cd15. I'm at the point where I feel like I know bd-ing naturally is likely not going to happen, but if I don't bd at all during O time, then there's NO way it's going to..right? :) Stacie, nice to hear from you - good luck this cycle! Oh, and you asked about my waiting for the ivf consultation.. It's going to be a 4-6 month wait, and that's JUST for the consultation..apparently it'll be another 4-6 months before getting in to have the procedure done etc. Yep, be grateful you're in the U.S. ladies. I'm in Canada, for those of you who don't know, and we have only one clinic around here that does ivf, and it's 3 hours from my house. I actually looked into my insurance coverage for ivf just to see, and the process is not covered at all, but I do get $3000 worth of the drugs for ivf covered, so I guess that's better than nothing. I just wanted to remind some of you (Georgia!) that I know of two women who got pg when they went OFF Clomid. Laurie, good point about acupuncture..I stopped doing it for a couple of reasons, but I do believe it may have lowered my fsh. No way of knowing that for sure though. It doesn't hurt though, (well, only a bit :)) so give it a try! How's everyone else doing? Take care ladies!

NatashaV - December 3

Sorry, just saw what I typed when I said that "bd-ing naturally is just not going to happen"..I mean that it likely isn't going to get me pg. We are bd-ing naturally, so that is definitely "happening"! :) N.

Hi ladies. Hope you all are well. I went to the doctors today for another scan. Looks like there are 6 follies in the 15-10 range. He had me up the meds (300 gonal f, lupron, and antigon) throughout the day. I am so frustrated because initially he said 8. I made 6 just doing the gonal f once a day for the iuis! I was hoping that I would make more than enough to freeze for some time in the future, but it isn't looking like that will be what I get, especially when I hear about all the ladies who only have a few fertilize. Anyway, I go back to the dr on Wed. He might have me trigger that day for a retrieval on Friday or trigger the next day for retrieval on Sat. We'll see. I sure hope this works...I am praying so hard for this miracle. Thanks for letting me get that out. Talk to you soon. Stacie

baby1234 - December 4

Oh, and I forgot the menapur I get to take. You don't even want to know how much the meds cost! I think I should become a pharmacist. Stacie

Hey Natasha, I'm in Canada too--Vancouver. We have two clinics here that I can choose from. One is the University centre for reproductive health and the other is a more private clinic called Genesis. I'm at the University Centre, which is where my doctor referred me. I also have the head of the department as the doctor on my case. How lucky is that? But, even with two clinics the waits are still long. Every time I book an appt, I have to wait two weeks. Just for follow ups. I don't know how long it would take if I was doing procedures etc.

Hi Stacie - I've been thinking lots of good thoughts for you as well. You're doing great handling all the meds and chaos. Fingers crossed things go well - and I'm so sorry you have the dreaded 2ww ahead of you - it will be tough since you so busy on the 'front end' of IVF getting ready, and then waiting ( all I'm saying is we are here for you and wishing you tons of baby dust and lots of success) :-)

I have a quick question for you. Sometime about 5 years ago even while on the pill I noticed that I would get very hot at night sometimes during the month. It started after I went walking one morning and got heat exhaustion (it was dead of summer in FL and I didn't have enough water). I really didn't pay attention to it too much and just always thought, I guess I better drink more water. About 3 years ago, I started regularly drinking 2 liters of water a day but the hotness didn't go away - and I just couldnt' figure out what was causing it. And then when I quit the pill about 17 mos, ago, I figured out that it happens during my 2ww. Every single month - it's not like a hot flash where it comes over you around your neck, it is my entire body and I get so hot, I swear I'm going to explode. And I figured out it was happening during the 2ww, because I was temping in the early days, and the first half of the cycle was 97.0, 96.9, 97.2 and the second half was 98.1, 97.9, etc... And since I was so friggin hot last night, I was just thinking about that and my dh asked if any of you guys suffered with that (while he was shivering under the duvet) and I was stripped off of all clothes (and I not one of those people who sleep naked voluntarily - I hate being 'exposed' but usually once during every cycle I get so hot I just can't stand it another second. So that's my crazy story - just wondering if you guys deal with that or ever heard of it?

meme_g - December 4

I should amend that to I have a quick question for all of you.
