trying to conceive after miscarriage.

2 years back when we planned to start a family, I conceived within two months. Unfortunately, it was followed by a miscarriage within 7 weeks.
After that I am finding it difficult to conceive. The only question that comes to my mind is, how did I conceive immediately the first time. I have tried having metformin and also tried clomid for one cycle only under doc supervision.
Any help will be appreciated.
