Taking the IVF plunge- GULP!

Hello everyone. I'm 36 and my husband and I have been trying for over a year and a half now. His sperm count and motility is low and the doc has had me on clomid/ IUI/ trigger to produce more "targets" for his seemingly challenged sperm and we have had no luck. I think we are going to start the IVF process this next month (I'm due for my period any day now). I was wondering if anyone is in the same boat or is farther along in the process who can give me advice. We are also thinking of doing the shared risk thing. Any thoughts or ideas? Man, this is something I never thought I'd have to be doing....But I can't take these fruitless cycles...the ups, the downs, the feeling that your life is on hold, etc. Thanks!

Amy please come join our OCT/NOV IVF thread. I just completed my first IVF cycle and am in the 2ww. Just did my embryo transfer yesterday. What ever advice you want to know just ask away. I can tell you its a major emotional roller coaster. Alot of injections medications and very time consuming. But its well worth if it works. So feel free to ask away. Amy, Hi please come join us over at Oct/Nov IVF's its a great group of people all going trough this IVF process! I just started the stims yesterday - i'm on my 2nd ivf attemt this month!! I'm 29 and dh is 29 we will have been trying for 2 years in Feb so i hope i get pregnant soon! The girls are so great on this thread so please come over there!! Good luck! Oh i'm doing shared risk too!!

Thank you both for writing! I'm going to get my final beta tomorrow where they confirm my BFN. I am going to talk to the doc more tomorrow and I will be joining the group very soon. Thanks again!
