Does anyone here have RA ( rheumatoid Arthritis) and trying to concieve? I take Enbrel, Mobic, and Prednisone, I wanted to know if anyone has taken any of these meds and has had any luck getting pregnant?

Anna, I also have RA. I have been trying to concieve for 2yrs. I was previously on methotrexate, enbrel, and naproxen. I stopped methotrexate 3mos prior to starting to conceive because of it not recommended. And I stopped enbrel 1 mo. prior because of no known studies of what it does during pregnancy. So after 2wks of no meds but naproxen I needed something so doc put me on predisone which is okay to take if I get pregnant. The only bad thing with the pred. is that it throws my cycles off and doesn't always give me a period. So that part sucks. I have tried prometrium to start my af and have also been on clomid. I still have hope pregnancy will happen but it gets frustrating sometimes and wish other meds for arthritis was safe for pregnancy. Also, what is the drug Mobic? I haven't heard of it. Is it a shot or oral? and how often do you take it? Hope I helped you a little and let me know if you have any more questions I will try to help. I have posted a couple of times about ra and preg and don't get many responses. Maybe not real common I don't know. Best of Luck!!

Hi Gracie, I have heard from many people that those who have RA usually have normal pregnancy, and usually dont have any problems getting pregnant. My doctor says that sometimes with RA its a little harder for the egg to stick so you may not become pregnant as soon as you would like to. I have been taking Mobic since Vioxx and Bextra came off the market. Its an NSAD. just like VIoxx and Bextra but with less side effects. Taking Meds while trying to conceive just freaks me out because I dont know the side effects it may have on trying to get pregnant or even with the baby, I think I stress myself out to much about that. Also I stress out about how I may feel while Iam pregnant. I just wanted to know if anybody had any luck with pregnancy with RA. Did you try seeing a Dr for infertility since you have been trying for 2 yrs now? Wish you all the best.

Anna, I have been seeing a obgyn for about 1 1/2 yrs and just had an hsg done last month before Thanksgiving and my tubes arn't blocked so that is good. So just waiting to see if this cycle is going to start or not. I've seen some other people post that they have had good luck conceiving after a hsg within 2 mos so i am hoping!! I have a good friend who's sister has ra and has 2 children and said she felt the best when she was pregnant. My rheumatologist said it's like you are in remisson when preg which would be awesome!
