Provera (to bring on period) and Clomid- it's my first time!

Hi all, I just got back from the doctor to discuss my having problems getting pregnant and she suggested that first I go on provera to bring on my period and then start clomid. Today is cd59 for me and I'm so sure that my period is right around the corner. I'd hate to take the provera and have to wait almost 3 weeks for it to come. Is that true? How long does it take for your period to come using Provera? Also, I have not been diagnosed w/ PCOS but my doctor thinks I might have a very mild case of it. She thinks that I just ovulate late- my cycles are very long, they average 35-45+ days. Like I said, I'm on day almost 60 right now, I'm always irregular and never really know when my period is going to come. However, I did conceive my son naturally, with no drugs (so I do ovulate). My son is 21 months old and my husband and I are trying for #2 with no luck so far. IT's even hard for me to use an OPK cause I have no idea how long my cycle is going to be. If I do decide to use the Provera and my period comes, then I try the Clomid on days 5-7 or something like that...is that supposed to bring ovulation on? When? When do my husband and I have sex after I take the Clomid? Do I do and OPK and if it works will I ovulate normally, like on day 14 or whatever it is for a normal cycle person? When should I start using the OPK, which CD? Then my doc said she wants me to come in for a progesterone blood test on day 21 I think. What does that show? Ovulation or pregnancy? She also mentioned to me that we can do the IUI I believe it's called. Or we can just try it on our own. I think she also said she wants me to call her when I get the surge from the OPK? I guess that would be if I decided to do the IUI, right? Then you come into the office and they'll inject my husband's sperm directly into my cervix, right? I'm so confused and new to all of this. Any advice would be great. I really appreciate it! Good luck to all of you and thank you!!
