I just started taking Prometrium this month. I am 6 days late with my period. I have taken 4 pregnancy tests and all are negative. Does this medication stop my period from coming or make false negatives results on home pregnancy tests?

Angie - I take prometrium to start my periods, and I have always started one to two days after my last pill. I take it 1-12 days of the month. This last month I even started before I was finished with my pills. I have never heard of it giving false negatives on hpts, and it should make you shed your uterine lining to start your period. I have read from others in this forum that their periods didn't start until about 6-8 days after their last pill. I would wait a few more days and call the doctor if it still doesn't show up. angie, i take prometrium for about 2 yrs now it starts periods. but i did have one come late but my doctors said that there wasnt enough time in between periods. i guess i took it before the previous cycle was over but it did come eventually

Isn't that a form of progesterone? I am using that to make my cylces longer. It made mine over 7 days longer.
