Pregnancy with one falopian tube

I am 42 and was told in January that one of my tubes was blocked and that I was not ovulatiing either.
Imagine my surprise and shock when I got pregnant naturally not long after that but did not know I was pregnant until 15th February as my periods are really irregular. Sadly I miscarried the baby at 5 weeks. I am now going privately to see a fertility expert as the NHS in Britain have been useless so far. They virtually told me I had no chance of having a baby naturally and yet I got pregnant so don't give up hope. I'm still hoping to have a baby naturally maybe with fertility drugs to stimulate ovulation as they say you only ovulate every other month with just one tube. Hope this helps?

hi there - I believe you can get pregnant naturally, the question becomes how long are you willing to wait to find out? I lost one tube with an ectopic 2 yrs ago and was able to conceive with clomid about a year after that. I now have a beautiful 3 mo. old. I am 35 yrs old, so also considered a "mature mom." I strongly recommend trying clomid. It was a saving grace for me. Naturally, every other month, when you're ovulating on the side that has the tube, you will have increased odds. I would have an ultrasound to verify which side you are on as most women alternate ovaries each month. Good luck!

I'm 26 years old and my right falopian tube was removed 6 1/2 years ago as a result of ectopic pregnancy. I have been trying to get pregnant ever since with no success. I've pretty much given up on it now and am thankful that I did have one bundle of joy before the surgery.

At 17 I had right tube and ovary removed due to a cancerous tumor. The MD's told me at that time that I would never have children. At 28 I conceived DD without ttc; now after more than 2years ttc #2 dh and I have moved onto IVF. So yes you can conceive with one tube; but in the end may need some fertility assistance. Good luck to you!!

I had a tube removed 6 months ago after an eptopic pregnancy and I have just fallen pregnant again so answering your question you can conceive with only one tube! :-)

i have had my right tube removed in december of 2008 due to a ectopic as well i was told that i will ovulate every month...if this is the case why will it be harder to get pregnant with one tube i am so cnfused on all f this i think i should go talk to a specialist...everyones answers on this is all different. the funny thing is i feel preg i am getting all the sympthoms but due to doubt i block it out and make excuses why i am not...btw why do i still have sharp pains on my right side?? i hate this i just wish i was back to the way i was before my ectopic have become so sad and depressed over all of this why could stuff this hard happen to people it also makes no sense why we got to go through this pain. I know i should be greatful that i have three children and i am but at the same time all this hurts so much i have been pregnant a total of seven times losing four children...four children it makes me so so angry it is like i am doing something wrong and the way i look at it you all will say i am blessed to even have one but the point is those were my babies my flesh and blood and they are gone and it hurts so much everyday good luck ladies and take care bless you all

I'm new to this site. I am 33 years old and ths past Tuesday I had my left tube removed because it was blocked. During the HSG the Dr found that my right tube is open yet dilated. My husband and I are eager to start trying to get pregnant as soon as I am all healed up. I am going to be positive about our chances to conceive. I was wondering if there were any fertility drugs i.e. Clomid that would increase our chances. We've overcome a lot of obstacles and really just want a baby of our own. It's been an emotional rollercoaster for both my husband and I. It's nice to find an outlet where I ca share my experience and hear of others who are going through similar situations.
