Pregnancy after HSG

It's too early to tell if you are pregnant but it's possible that the cramps are caused by ovulating and what I know is we are fertile seven days before ovulation ,the day of ovulation, and the day after ovulation. After this, chances of conception decrease quickly, as the egg has a short life-span of about 24 hours. If you've BBD this whole time then be patient and see if Aunt Flo will show up, if not just track your next cycle and TTC. I pray for a BFP ...Baby dust to you.

Hi, I am 40 Have one child and I have been trying to get pregnant ever since having that child years ago. i was in a relationship for 2 years and tried with that partner. I reunited back with my ex and ttc with him and no luck and now I have been trying for 7 months in a relationship of 2 years plus with my fiance and nothing. I went 2 weeks ago for a HSG and they said 1 tube was open - on the screen, the other one was totally blocked, shooo I couldnt even see it. Now I had an ovulation and enjoyed love making that week and hopefully awaiting to see those 2 magic lines or those words "Pregnant" Leaving it in Gods hands to bless me with another child. Please, Please pray for us. I will Keep you updated because my day of menstrual period is in exactly 10 days. I will let you know if it is a Thumbs Up or a thumbs down. Im hoping to give someone else a motivational post because after 10 years since my last child, I think I should be blessed already with another one.

Hi Ladies, I am in the same boat as most of you here. I am scheduled for my hsg test on Feb 13. I am not scared about the pain, I know it will be totally worth it, but I will definitely be taking 2 or 3 extra strength motrin before I have the test that morning..lol. Anyways, same sort of situation, it is unexplained infertility for us. All blood work for me is perfectly fine, husband sperm analysis is ABOVE average, and we have been trying for 18 months already. I am almost 35, husband is 32. My OBGYN suggested this test to me since I have been seeing her since May of last year with still no results...she then says that after this test we can go on clomid for 3 months and see if that helps, the lowest dose of 50 mg on day 5-9 of my next cycle, but I am ovulating normally, and I know this as I have been using a clearblue fertility monitor for months tracking my cycles. I ovulate day 12-13, and my cycle is 28-29 days. So I am really hoping that this HSG test does "clear out the cobwebs" and helps us have our dream of our baby soon too. I will post again after the HSG test and let you all know how the experience was for me. I really have enjoyed sitting here for hours reading all of the previous posts on this thread, reading of others success stories, and sharing in your experiences of frustration and disappointment each month. Lets all just try to keep the faith and release any fears about it, and hopefully this year 2015 it will happen for us. Baby dust to us all!!

HI ladies, I just wanted to write my update. I just had my hsg test this morning. I really didnt sleep last night, I was so scared about the pain of this, but honestly it was NOT THAT BAD. I must say that they didnt find any blockages at all, everything flowed through perfectly fine, so this just shows gives me extra reassurance that my tubes are open and fine, and no fibroids or anything in my uterus either. Ladies, I am not going to say it was a piece of cake, but honestly, I would do this again if I had to. It was uncomfortable having the speculum REMOVED from inside after she had insterted the tube in my cervix, since she had to open it wider to remove it for whatever reason, butstill it was not bad at all. The pain was when she inserted the dye inside. It was INTENSE for 5 seconds, HONESTLY only 5 seconds, and I did cry out, but that was it, it was over, and the pain immediately was over as well. I was surprised by how quickly it was all done! I didnt actually see the motion of the dye spilling out my tubes, as when I got the pain I cried out and turned my head the opposite direction, but they left the still shot on the screen after and I thought that was really neat to see what it looked like, I was wishing that I had just turned my head the opposite way so that I could have watched it flow through at the same time. I cant really describe the pain, it is best described as a very intense period cramp, but not quite the same. I just wish I knew before hand that it would only last 5 seconds, anyone can handle five seconds of pain! And luckily I have just been barely spotting since, I did pass two small bloody mucus clots when I got home and went pee for the first time, but the doc said this is normal. But to any women out there, she told me that if you are bleeding heavily after this, to go into emergency and tell them that you just had this procedure, as this is NOT NORMAL and may indcate infection etc. I was not given anything for infection, I simply took 4 motrin 2 hours before the test, and I have not needed to take anything since. Also, both the nurse and the doctore both told me seperately that many women get pregnant after having ths procedure done! So, I am very happy to hear this, and I really hope that it will work for me as well. I will keep you updated at the end of my cycle on what is going on, as today was cycle day 6 for me, I usually ovulate on day 12-13. Baby dust to all of us!!

So, just to update, I did NOT get pregnant the first month after my HSG, but, I am not giving up hope, I am trying again this month and I plan on doing 3 things different--I am using clomid on days 3-7 50mg for the first time, I will be using PRESEED lube, and I will combine that with using SOFTCUPS this month. Hopefully, this being month 19, one of those new things will do the trick for me! Good luck to everyone!
